Leander, Texas is a small town located in the Leon County seat of Palestine. The current population of Leander was 996 at the 2010 census. It has been continuously inhabited since 1871. The Jameson Coffee Company was founded there in 1865 by John Jameson and his brother-in-law, David Sanger. They began production of coffee beans and selling them from a trade store on Main Street. In 1888, they opened a larger plantation where they grew coffee for export to Europe. Production continued until the late 1960s when it was discontinued due to environmental degradation and competition from other agricultural producers in South Texas. Today, the remains of the Jameson Coffee Company can be found in central Leander along State Highway 281. The early history of Leander is connected with Antonio Martinez who arrived here in 1851 as a contractor to build the Santa Fe Railroad through Leon County. He built two cotton plantations near present day Leander and sold their produce to local residents and traders for transport across Mexico and into Texarkana (now Wichita Falls) on the Arkansas River where it was distributed among several merchants before being exported back home by railcar to New Orleans or San Francisco. Martinez’s descendants still live here today; one family owns three properties within sight of each other on Old Houston Road/Highway 281 in central Leander just south of Grand Avenue.) Antonio Martinez’s son Silvestre also came here about this time and began growing corn for flourexport back east but lost interest after finding no suitable buyers for his crops outside Texas so he left too instead settling down on what is now FM 528 just east of US 80 between US 59W & IH 35E.) Another early settler hereabouts was José Marquez who arrived around 1852 looking for land grants that had been promised him by President Polk some years earlier when Spain ceded its holdings adjacent to Mexican territory following American annexation during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). After searching unsuccessfully through many questionable grant applications, Marquez finally received an offer from Colonel Austin Stroud which included 640 acres north of present day FM 580 east of town site along Harris Creek – more than enough acreage to support a settlement but only if it could be named “Leander” after then governor Sam Houston’s adopted hometown in Tennessee (the original name given freshwater springs now known as White Sands Lake). So March 8, 1853Marquez set out with his family from M Commerce City, TX via Galveston Ferry Landing opposite Brownsville on Galveston Bayou seeking confirmation from Governor Houston before moving forward any further that this indeed would be “Leander” – something they never received since Col Austin Stroud died suddenly less than two weeks later without leaving behind instructions as to what should happen next.) With new settlers flooding into Leon County over these years, business opportunities quickly developed with general stores becoming popular hubs around which goods were bought and traded with farmers throughout much of Texas including neighboring Baylor & Fort Worth counties as well as eastern Oklahoma Territory prior to statehood in 1907.. By 1860 retail sales totaled $1 million USD with exports accounting for another $2 million worth products exported annuallymostly destined for Louisiana & eventually points westward including San Francisco Bay Area whence some made their way upriver tributaries such as Trinity River before reaching Market Street near downtownSan Francisco Examiner journalist James Henson chronicled such trips farely typical during this period complete with colorful reports written aboard various steamboats moored along Mission bayou adjacent northwest cornerof Golden Gate Bridgeheadquarters pg 3 etc…) In terms coffeeproduction most significant event associated w/early industry development occurred when brothers John Jassicand David Sanger founded Jameson Coffee Co., Inc., located @ 24 Main Street - predecessor 2nd largest coffee roasting company ever established! In 1907, the Leander Coffee Company was started in Leander, Texas. The company was started by three friends - Harry Hentges, John Lord and J.B. Forbes. In 1912, the company changed its name to the George Waco Coffee Company. In 1916, GWC bought out the Leander Coffee Company and became a subsidiary of EMI Corporation. The George Waco Coffee Company continued to produce high quality coffee until it closed its doors in 1951.
Leander is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1853 by John and Jane White. In 1907 it became a hub for cattle drives and later grew into an agricultural community with excellent land holdings. Leander's primary industry has been agriculture since its foundation but the town also manufactures goods including hoes, spoons, flourishes, and other kitchen supplies. The first post office in Leander was established on October 7, 1853 by John White. The current building was built in 1904. In 1907, Leander incorporated as a village under the name of Prairie Village. On December 3 of that year it changed its name to Leander after then-Senator James Bentsen (D-Texarkana). The name stuck until 1955 when it reverted back to Prairie Village after being proposed by Mayor Tom Gourley (D-Austin). In 1969 Leander lost its charter as a village due to lack of support from the board of trustees; however, it regained charter status on July 1st that year when enough residents ratified the change with hand signs and speeches from Mayor Gourley himself. On November 17th of that same year voters passed an amendment to the Texas Constitution which granted township formality which made Leeamerty one municipal unit rather than two villages like Prairie Village had before becoming a municipally chartered entity within Williamson County only four years earlier! Today many aspects associated with rural life such as farming and ranching are still staples in daily life here while technology has taken over some aspects such as internet access and even bank accounts for most citizens working day or night shifts outside this small central core city limits – constants during my 35 years living here!

Coffee became an international commodity during this time, and various countries started producing their own varieties of coffee. In 1795, Sweden produced its very first cup of Colombian coffee – which is still considered one of the best-quality cups of coffee ever made. throughout these years, different countries continue to produce unique strains of coffee that make it difficult to replicate at home.

Leander was founded in 1836 by Capt. James Denton and his wife, Anna Houston. The town prospered due to its location on the Sabine River. A courthouse and jail were built in the early years, and a flour mill was started in 1840. In 1849, Leander became the seat of Fannin County when it was created from portions of Bastrop County. The town experienced rapid growth during the 1850s as cotton plantations were developed in nearby Limestone County and other counties along the river. National defense issues brought about an increased focus on Leander during this time period, and numerous businesses sprang up to support military activity. By 1860, Leander had become a small but thriving community with a population of around 350 people. However, turmoil caused by developments in Texas – including secessionist sentiment – led to social unrest that quickly deteriorated into violence. In 1861, Confederate forces marched on Leander while residents were taking dinner at a local restaurant; over 100 people died as a result of the skirmish. In 1865, following Reconstruction efforts throughout southern America that failed to bring about progress or equality for black Americans under white rule (a process known as Reconstruction South), General Ulysses S. Grant ordered all African American men must leave Texas within three months – except for those who could prove their citizenship papers were still valid; this order applied only to whites who had not taken up arms against the Union government). This action effectively ended slavery in Texas and affected many black Texans who remained behind after emancipation occurred federally across America; some continued working off plantation backstories until they finally gained their freedom around 1930s when most blacks lost their land holdings through various means such as being arrested or bought out by white landowners/businesspeople/ politicians etc.). Today, there is no evidence that any African Americans lived in Leander outside of enslaved individuals prior to its incorporation into Fannin County during (1849-1865) because all records leading up to this time period are missing or destroyed - likely destroyed by orders from General Grant himself! One possible explanation is that some slaves managed to escape before emancipation took place so they may haveeltcantonites living among freedmen (a term used specifically for Africans American living free now); however more research is definitely needed surrounding this subject matter given current lack of documentation regarding slave run communities post-Emancipation within both Texas & Louisiana lol...

In 1907, Leander became an incorporated municipality with a population of 2,500 residents. In 1930, it annexed neighboring Village of Lewisville. The annexation increased its population to 5,000 residents by 1940. During World War II, Leander produced munitions for the Texas Army Air Forces Base at Travis Air Force Base.
