The Leon Valley community was platted in 1875 by John Withers. A post office was established there in 1876, and the name changed to Leon Valley in 1907. The community suffered damage in a severe storm on July 5, 1951, which destroyed most of the town center and left many buildings uninhabitable. But since then, Leon Valley has slowly recovered and today has a population of over 1,000 people who enjoy its wonderfulclimate andfriendly gents and girls school system.

In Leon Valley, Texas, the history of the community is intertwined with that of its namesake valley. The name comes from a Mexican land grant given to a family in 1836. The grant was part of an effort to make sure Mexicans didn't move into what would become the United States. The valley is located in Midland County and includes parts of east-centraltx., including Nacogdoches and New Braunfels. When it was first surveyed in 1845, much of what is now Leon Valley was included within present day Midland County. Today, much of the valley remains rural and agricultural with a small population growth rate. The grants that were given to these early settlers helped create a nucleus around which the community grew. In 1846, James Fenton purchased 640 acres in what is now Leon Valley from Manuel Sanchez for $3 per acre ($8 per lot). This purchase allowed for extensive ranching operations and spurred development in the area as farmers began leasing parcels to other people or businesses for agriculture or market gardening purposes. Fenton's farmstead became known as "the Fenton Ranch" because he leased it out to various people over time. He also donated some of his land to the town square location today known as First Street between Main and Commerce Streets when it was platted in 1887 - an event that signaled official incorporation by Midland County into Texas on July 1st, 1888! It wasn't until 1907 when another rancher named Harry Elmore bought 640 acres adjoining Fenton's property - giving Leon Valley its final touches! During this time period, many businesses popped up throughoutLeonValley; some still operate today such as Artesian Wells GASOLINE Laundry which opened its doors back in 1926 and continues service today!
The Leon Valley community was founded in 1881 when the railroad arrived. The first settler was John D. Rockefeller, who built a logging and ranching empire in the area. In 1909, the town of Leon Valley was incorporated and its citizens voted to name it after their home state of Texas. Today, Leon Valley is a bedroom community located near Austin, TX.
