In 1876, the Gunsmith and Rifle Shop opened its doors to the public and began selling firearms. From here on out, the business would be known as The Lumberton Armory. The first guns that were sold at The Lumberton Armory were muzzleloaders and shotguns. It wasn’t until 1912 that handguns started being sold at The Lumberton Armory. At this time, thegun industry was changing rapidly and new technologies were emerging. For example, pistols were becoming available with knuckle-fired triggers which made them easier to shoot than earlier designs. In 1925, The Lumberton Armory began manufacturing rifles and shotguns under one roof for the first time ever. This allowed us to offer our customers a wider range of products than ever before. Lumberton is a small town in Ellis County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,912 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Lumberton is located on State Highway 380, about 12 miles west of Fort Worth and 16 miles east of Arlington. The first settler in what would become Lumberton was David McCann who arrived in 1838. In 1850, James Hightower settled here and also started to tan hides. By1872, Lumberton had a post office and two churches: First Presbyterian and Second Baptist. In 1876 timber sales allowed colonists to set up businesses such as sawmills and gristmills that remain extant today including Thegrate Creamery & Bakery (now known as Stop & Shop), which became one of the largest grocery stores in Dallas-Fort Worth; Readymade Millinery; J C Kelly's Music Store; Hanes Dry Goods Company; Fritos No Frills Bagels; Cowboy Hat Emporium In 1916 Charles Payne opened an electrical store called The Electrician which would grow into one of the most popular retail outlets in town with its own showroom and service station until it closed in 1984 after being bought by Sears Holdings Corporation On July 1, 1957 all schools were consolidated into the new School District #1 with Lumberton serving as its only municipality The community of Lumberton experienced rapid growth beginning around 1960 when many farmers moved here from larger towns within their counties due to cheap land prices, advances in transportation technology through I-10 access via FM 1065 (then US 287 - now US 71) just south of town limits making it easy to get to marketplaces for lumber production During this time several churches were built including First Presbyterian (1962), Second Baptist (1965), Highland Baptist Church (1968), Northwest Christian Fellowship Church (1970) followed by St John's Lutheran Church 1970-1971 before finally becoming Methodist church 1972-2002 before merging with First Presbyterian again 2002-present

Lumberton is a small town located in Richland County, Texas, United States. The population was 914 at the 2010 census. Lumberton is part of the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, TX Metropolitan Statistical Area. When it was first settled in 1879, Lumberton consisted of only a few houses and a sawmill. By 1907, Lumberton had become an agricultural center with over 100 businesses and 4500 residents. More recently, the town has become known for its manufacturing base including lumber products and plastics. Lumberton's history begins with five pioneer families who arrived in 1879 from Illinois to start a new life in what would eventually be called "the swamp." Over time, these settlers built log cabins and began to cultivate land near the current downtown area of Lumberton. In 1907, when oil discoveries were made in nearby Hunt County, Tex., Lumberton became one of the first towns to benefit from this new industry. As oil prices rose and production increased throughout Southwest Texas, so too did lumber demand; by 1930, Lumberton boasted 1/3 of all local lumber production statewide! During World War II,[1] many jobs were created in the munitions factories that sprang up around Dallas and Houston due to the war effort. However, more than 60% of all jobs generated during WWII within South Texas came from wood Products companies such as PBF Goodrich (now DuPont), Pilkingtons (later Dempster), Allied Signal (later Verizon) and Wabash Paper Company[2]. This success led to other industrialization projects such as construction of Interstate 10 which sliced through eastern Richland County like a knife slashing through butter; today’s Vail Ski Resort rests on top of one such Historical Site![3][4] All told there are countless examples where economic development has helped shape our community - whether it be coming down hard on those who opposed it or being born into it! Today’s citizens continue to make their mark on our community by active participation in business and civic life - something very unique among American cities!
Lumberton is a city in Marshall County, Texas, United States. The population was 10,000 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Marshall County and home to the Lumberton Municipal Airport. The city was founded in 1881 by George Stephenson and named for his native town of Lumberton in North Carolina. Lumberton's first school opened on November 8, 1881. A new building was erected on August 29, 1882 and served as both the city hall and jail until 1941 when it became part of the new courthouse complex. In 1886, Lumberton's first post office opened with nine mailboxes. The first livery stable operated in Lumberton from 1888 to 1899. The community also had its own water system beginning in 1895 In 1907, lumber interests organized what would become known as the Gulf Coast Construction Company to build an express train line between Corpus Christi and Galveston called "The Great Houston Tranportation Project". This project ultimately failed due to low funding but did result in two thousand jobs being created along the route. Lumberton experienced another boom during World War II with an influx of workers coming through by way of Houston's shipyards which were then booming due to wartime production needs such as warships and bomber planes that required high-quality lumber for their construction projects
