On November 15, 1941, the Midlothian Coast Guard Station was re-established as part of the Texas National Guard. The station served as an emergency response unit for the coast guard until it was discontinued on October 1, 1946.
Midlothian, Texas is a city located in the Midland County of Texas, United States. The population was 97,471 at the 2010 census. Midlothian is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, and is one of its largest cities. Midlothian's downtown area encompasses over 1 square mile (3 km²). The city was founded in 1881 as a settlement on the banks of the Clear Fork River by Scottish immigrants. The first settler in what is now Midlothian was James McDonald who arrived from Perthshire, Scotland with his family in 1881. McDonald set up a log cabin near where he currently lives on Main Street and started farming land that he bought from Alexander Rossbach for $1 per acre. In 1888, McDonald married Eliza Jane Buchanan and they started raising crops and sheep on their new property. By 1893, they had built a two-story home on Main Street which they named "McDonald House". In 1901, McDonald sold his farm to developer John Wunderlich for $8 per acre and became one of Wunderlich's leading merchants and investors in the community. On October 15th, 1907, Wunderlich donated part of his estate toMidlothian Township trustees for use as a public park which would eventually become known as Midlothian Park. In 1927 during World War II Japanese American citizens living in east Dallas were relocated to nearby Arlington Heights due to an incident at Camp Taylor when Ulysses S Grant speechwriter Harry Belafonte got into an argument with local military officers while eating at an Arlington Heights restaurant
The Coast Guard was established in 1915, during the first World War. The Coast Guard became a fully operational force in 1942. The Coast Guard's mission is to provide security for the coastline and its users, protect navigation and marine resources, and maintain law and order on the nation's coastlines. The Coast Guard has consistently given back to society through donations of items and services. In 1916, the Coast Guard donated $2,500 to help finance a new lighthouse at Cape Cod. From 1922-1929, the Coast Guard contributed 1,000 pieces of clothing each year to charity. In 1937, they donated 2 tons of food to New York City after Hurricane Edith struck that city. In 1951-1954 they contributed 7 boxes of radios each month to Stonington Island which had been hit by Hurricane Marilyn. In 1970-1975 they donated 182 sets of bathing suits each month from their collection in support of Breast Cancer research. They also supported numerous other charities during this time with donations such as hats, mittens, radios/television sets, toys (including model boats), carriages etc.. In 1985-1990 they donated 6 pairs of shoes per month for children living with cancer across America through Operation Smile programs run by Drs Jerry Lewis and Jane Fonda.. Additionally between 1990-1995 they made a special donation called "Teddy Bears For Teachers" which gave away 100 teddy bears each day for one week during school year.. Between 1995-1998 they made a special donation called "Christmas Donations" which consisted of over 1500 boxed cookies or candy bars sent directly to families in need every Christmas season! It is safe to say that the Coast Guard has always put social responsibility above self interests when it comes time for giving back - something we can all learn from!

Midlothian, Texas is a small town located in the U.S. state of Texas. Midlothian was founded by David Easley in 1872, and became an incorporated city in 1907. The population of Midlothian was 24,854 at the 2000 census. Midlothian is the seat of Dallas County, TX. The original settlers were primarily Scottish-Irishmen who arrived in what is now Midlothian from Fife and Kinross during the 1830s to help build railroads across North America. These Scots-Irish men built homes on longitude lines which they measured out into square miles and named their land after geographical features such as Milne Bridge (now Fort Worth), Levelland, or Douglass Barracks (now Arlington Cemetery). In 1872, David Easley founded Midlothian as a small town situated on the north side of Dallas County between Fort Worth and Arlington Heights with a population of 10 people. With only two stores and no post office, Easley quickly established himself as one of the county's most successful businessmen. He soon developed a reputation for being entrepreneurial and innovative; he started his own flour mill, cattle ranching business, oil well drillings company, ice cream factory, theater and other businesses that would later be referred to as "Easleytown." In 1907, Midlothian became an incorporated city under the name "Dallas". By 1920 there were over 100 businesses operating in downtown Dallas with a population exceeding 5500 residents including many police officers attached to its municipal government. The growth of downtown Dallas led to increased traffic congestion on Main Street whereupon Mayor Harry Lee called for streetcars running down Elm Street connecting downtown Dallas with midtown while also widening Elm Street to create more space for cars along its length; this proposal was approved by voters in 1924 but never implemented due to budgetary problems caused by World War II changes in defense spending priorities . The closing of several local businesses during Prohibition did little to improve economic conditions within cities like Dallas which were struggling during that time period; however Midlothian demonstrated its resilience through rapid growth following prohibition's repeal through establishment of new businesses such as real estate development (such as Palacios Ranch Homes) and manufacturing (such as Jerald & Arthur Cigar Company). Businesses thrived during prohibition because drinkers could buy alcohol not available at home making it difficult for organized crimesters interested in dominating DISTRIBUTION networks to establish control over large areas inside cities while avoiding public attention . Unfortunately much like many other American towns during Prohibition - albeit without major social or economic consequences - MidlithiansBusinesses went bust sometime after 1928 when production ceased due primarily to increases in gasoline prices associated with newly created interstate highways
