Business slowed during World War I when munitions production switched from Germany to Japan; however, it picked up again after Japanese forces pulled out of China in 1945. Today, City Hall stands as one of downtown's most iconic buildings - not only because it represents an important milestone in city development but also because it was designed by renowned American architect Frank Lloyd Wright under contract with Mayor Donny Ferguson Sr.. It should be noted that while City Hall was built with government funding - including money donated byMurphy citizens - much else around downtown reflects privately funded initiatives spearheaded by businessmen such asDonny Ferguson Sr.. However, despite this private involvement - both before and after Mayor Donny Ferguson Sr.'s stint - City Hall remains an important symbol of civic pride within downtown Murphy today! Murphy started his political career in 1912 when he won election to the United States Senate from New York as a Democrat. He served until his death in 1938, and during his time as senator he played an important role in developing America's post-World War II economic boom. In addition, he helped loosen restrictions on voting rights for African Americans and led efforts to increase funding for education and social welfare programs. Murphy's legacy continues to be felt today; many people in Murphy believe that democracy is not only about individual rights but also about collective action and cooperation. Murphy Jr.–Edgar Meany School District which was created in 1984 by combining two neighboring schools – North Central High School and Southwestern Junior/Senior High School – into one school district.
