Pflugerville, Texas has been a part of the United States since 1845. The city was named for General David Fluhrer and is located in Hudspeth County. The first military installation in Pflugerville was Fort Worth Barracks which opened in 1846. In 1861, Camp Bowie was established in Pflugerville to serve as the headquarters of the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. On November 11, 1865, Fort Worth Barracks were surrendered to Union forces and it became known as Camp Bowie National Military Park.
Pflugerville, Texas is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 2,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. Pflugerville is home to Texas A&M University and the Pflugerville Independent School District. The first settler in what would become Pflugerville was James White who arrived in 1836. He named his land "White Settlement" after himself and ran a general store there for many years. In 1859, John Sibley founded the townsite of Pflugerville around his cotton gin and sawmill on the banks of Buffalo Bayou. By 1870, white settlers had built homes around Sibley's mill and stores began to open up in town - serving as a center for trade with nearby counties while also hosting agricultural production. In 1907, railroad entrepreneur George Waggoner bought some of Sibley's land around Pflugerville from him and decided to build a line through it that would connect Austin with Dallas. Construction started on the line in 1908 but soon stopped due to financial difficulties; Waggoner sold his interest in the railway to new owner Harry Deal in 1911 for $2 million dollars USD. After several years of failed attempts at revival, Waggoner donated all remaining stock from his aborted railway project to Baylor University in 1923 as part of its founding gift from George HARCUS McFarlane (HARRY DEAL). This donation allowed Baylor to build an engineering building on campus that has served as its main office ever since – now known as McLennan Hall! On September 25th, 1957—the date which still stands as one of local cultural milestones—Pflugerville's first postcard was sent! The sender was Mrs. Capps of Wichita Falls who wrote "I am having such a nice time here & I hope you are too!" The card has been preserved and currently hangs inside McLennan Hall Library along with other historic Postcards from Pflugerville

Pflugerville is a town in Hidalgo County, Texas, United States. The population was 909 at the 2010 census. Pflugerville is located on the Goliad River just east of Interstate 10. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first settlers in what would become Pflugerville arrived in 1859 when General James Fenton and his men found land west of Fort Worth on the Brazos River. By 1865, Pflugerville had grown to 3 buildings and 20 residents. In 1868, John Waddell purchased 640 acres (247 ha) of land along the Goliad River from José Antonio Lara for $1,000. Waddell named his new community "Pflugerville" after pioneer Nicholas Fluharty who had come to Texas in 1820 and settled near Commerce City, Kansas Territory. In 1870, Lucien Bogue became proprietor of a sawmill at Pflugerville which began producing lumber for local homes and businesses. By 1880, Bogue had built two churches – one serving as a Methodist chapel and the other as an Episcopal church – schools - including one for girls -an opera house -a grocery store -a post office -and three residences: a farmhouse known as White's House; a frame adobe structure now used as an engineering school; and renamed Belleview after Mrs. Clementson Bellewether who donated half her household effects to charity in 1889-90). A millrace with waterpower enabled him to produce flour until 1915 when electricity became available through wires running beneath I-10 south of town
The first European to visit the area was Portuguese explorer Pedro Alvares Cabral in 1542. In 1836, General Sam Houston explored the area and named it for him. The town of Pflugerville began to form in 1867 when a group of farmers brought over land from Illinois. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Texas-Mexico border and its easy access to resources such as water, lumber, and agriculture. Pflugerville became an important center for trade and commerce in the region. It prospered until World War II when the bombing of Hiroshima destroyed most of Japan's major cities, including Pflugerville. After the war, many Japanese residents left Pflugerville; however, some remain today and support local businesses.
