The Red Oak Air Force Base gift history began in 1951 when the USAF gifted a F-4 Phantom II to the then-Red Oak Municipal Airport. The active duty USAF stationed at Red Oak until 1973 and then transferred its mission to Lackland AFB, TX where it still remains today as an air force installation. In 1984, the USAF again gifted a F-4 Phantom II to Red Oak Municipal Airport when it merged with Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. In 1998, the USAF donated a Boeing 727-200ER to the airport for use as an air cargo terminal. The facility served as the primary cargo hub for both Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Red Oak Municipal Airport until 2003 when they merged into one entity. In 2006, NASA donated two Boeing 747s (N822NY and N823RD) to Red Oak Municipal Airport so that it could serve as their new international gateway for space tourists visiting Texas Skies!
Red Oak is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Theater District. Red Oak began as a stagecoach stop on the old San Antonio and El Paso Railroad. The first store was built in 1881 by J.B. Butts and his son Wm. Hays Butts; it closed in 1951. A post office operated at Red Oak from 1881 to 1901; it reopened on November 3 that year after being closed for several years due to Mexican War hostilities between Texas and Mexico In 1902, Wm. Hays Butts opened a general store which became the largest in Red Oak until it burned down in 1949 A second store opened in 1911 by Frank Mclntyre and continued to be open until 1984 when it closed also due to fire In 1935, Barney Fenton bought land east of town and started farming cotton with help from his father-in-law Johnnie Latham Fenton Sr.; he named his farm "RedOak" after the red oak trees that grew thereabouts In 1946, Red Oak Elementary School was established as one of thirteen schools within Lyndon B Johnson's new Interstate Highway System; it served students from Red Oak through Andersonville High School (later renamed Lamar High School) until 1988 when all pupils were transferred to Austin Central High School محمد بن العباس السعيد

This aircraft represented a significant change in military aviation and helped establish United States supremacy over its adversaries during the Cold War era. From 1957 through 1969, the USAF also produced the T-33 Shooting Star trainer jet which served as an important training platform for pilots of various types of aircraft throughout the Cold War period. During this time, United States Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation (AFC) manufactured more than 60% of all American combat jets serving in NATO and other international conflicts. In 1974, United States Aerospace Forces Europe was established as a separate command structure within the Pentagon responsible for all aspects of aerial warfare within NATO member states. This structure allowed for increased cooperation between nations within NATO and made it easier for coalition members to interact with one another while maintaining unified strategic operations against any potential adversary
On October 1, 1954 the USAF announced that it would be gifting a B-29 Superfortress to the Philippine Air Force. This gift was in honor of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's birthday and as part of the American airpower policy of "good neighborliness". The plane was delivered on October 15th, 1954 and made its first flight on November 5th.
Red Oak, Texas is a small town in Williamson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. Red Oak is located on the banks of the Sabine River and has a rich history dating back to 1836 when it was founded as a trading post by General Sam Houston. The first settlers in Red Oak were men from Kentucky and Tennessee who arrived in 1836. They built their homes near the riverbank and began trade with Indians for goods such as horses, cattle, tobacco and corn. In 1840, they donated land to build a school district which continues to exist today. In 1846, John Foust became its first teacher and opened what became Red Oak Schoolhouse on Elm Street. In 1888-89 an addition was built to the south side of Elm that served as the school’s Administration Building until 1971 when it was replaced by a new building on First Street which now houses Community Services Department Headquarters. In 1907-08 local businessmen Harry Hinton and Wm Gentry organized an agricultural fair which quickly became known as “the Super Fair” because it attracted great numbers of farmers from all over Texas and Oklahoma who bought more than $5 million worth of produce from over 50 different exhibitors. The fairgrounds remain one of Red Oak’s most popular attractions today with events including concerts by country music stars like Willie Nelson and Jerry Lee Lewis as well as antique car shows, horse shows and other carnival rides
Red Oak, Texas was founded in 1836 by General Sam Houston. The town was named for the oak trees that grew near the original site of Red Oak Creek. The town rapidly became a center of trade and industry, thanks to its location on the Texan state line and its access to both rivers and markets. In 1840, Red Oak became the capital of Texas.
