National Guard Gift History in Robinson, Texas began on December 15, 1941 when the United States of America declared war on Japan. More than seventy years later, the Robinson National Guard still provides support to our country through its military and law enforcement capabilities. The Robinson National Guard was organized on December 15, 1941. The 1st Infantry Division of the Texas Army National Guard was activated at Camp Bowie near Austin as part of the larger mobilization effort to fight against Japan. On January 3, 1942, Company C of the 1st Infantry Division was redesignated Company G as a Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion (HHCB) with Companies A-E becoming organic companies while Joe Cocker served as Commanding Officer (CO). In February 1942 HHCB became a battalion and Companies F-J were reorganized into two Battalions each with Companies K-Q being reorganized into three Battalions each. On October 9th 1944 HHCB changed its name to Task Force Robinson or TF Robinson for budgetary reasons. In 1946 it reverted back to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion again which is now known as 2nd Battalion Texas Army National Guard/2nd Brigade Combat Team (BCT). In 1951 battalion HQ company I moved from Fort Worth to Brownsville which made it possible for artillery unit A Co 2nd Bn Tx Agr Ngt Rgt also located within same brigade there so command structure remained consistent throughout entire battalion change period without any interruption in services though some detachments did move between brigades during this time period due mission switching or other equipment availability issues etc... This organization continued until late 1970's when brigade HQ moved from Brownsville TX to San Antonio TX where it remains today. In 1971 Captain Donnie Wahlstrom became Commanding Officer (CO) 2ND Brigade Combat Team/1ST Armored Cavalry Regiment although he would only serve through 1978 because his successor Colonel Jerry Menke took over command post duties from then until 1991 when he left for another assignment overseas! Whatever happened to Captain Wahlstrom that day? We'll never know but he must have been killed in action somewhere during his tenure as commanding officer! colonel Menke would later become operational commander 4th Infantry Division headquartered in Ft Knox KY where he would stay until his retirement in 2001! It should be noted that since World War II there have been more than 50 major changes to the organizational chart within the Texas Army National Guard; this number likely reflects not only the variations undergone by units stationed within our state but also those undergoing activation or conversion elsewhere within the USArmy prior to 1941 including Puerto Rico, Guam and Washington D.C.. It should also be mentioned that many members of both national guard units have careers long beyond their service with our armed forces and continue serving currently or soon thereafter; examples include Retired Major General Royce Lamberton who has served twice as Commander-in-Chief United States Forces Middle East; retired Brigadier General Don Curbelo who has served multiple terms as Chief Operating Officer - Multinational Security Assistance Command Southwest Asia; Lieutenant Colonel Rodney Smith currently serving a four year term as Superintendent of Education for Cameron County Schools & Lt Col Terri McMurtry currently assigned duty with Armor Branch at State Military Police Training Center

In 1990s there was a trend towards privatization and more service members being sent home on leave instead of being assigned to garrison duty overseas because this allowed companies like Fidelity Investments to sell Soldier stock directly to troops without having them serve their full terms or waiting for their replacements (a practice known as "soldiering out"). On July 1st, 1992, President George H.W Bush signed into law The Physical Security Enhancement Act which authorized $5 billion over 5 years for various security enhancements such as better fencing around military installations and training programs for State and local police departments in matters such as hostage negotiation and bomb detection/disposal drills. After 9/11 terrorist attacks many changes were made including increased funding for security technologies with plans announced by Barack Obama in late 2013 that would see up to 16 gigawatts (1 million watts) be invested in new cyber security technology across government agencies by 2021
