The Navy has been in the town of Robstown, Texas since 1898. The first Naval Station in Texas was established here in 1898, and it served as the headquarters for the Spanish-American War. The Navy also operated a base in nearby Corpus Christi during World War II. In 1967, the Navy moved its main facility from Galveston to Robstown. Today, the Naval Station offers a variety of activities for naval personnel and their families, including boating and fishing along the Brazos River; an aircraft hangar; and a recreational area with beach access.

Robstown is a small town in McLennan County, Texas, United States. The population was 596 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin-Round Rock metropolitan area. The town began as a stagecoach stop on the old Santa Fe Trail and was later named for General Sam Houston. The first settlers were English Protestants who came to Robstown in 1881 to escape religious persecution in England. They built a sawmill and general store and started a church, which still operates today. In 1896, the railroad arrived and changed everything; now, Robstown is known as "theRailroadtown of Texas." The town has experienced many changes over the years: it became an agricultural center during World War II; it became an all-night shopping mall after TXU closed its campus there in 2001; it lost its status as a community when Interstate 35 bypassed it in 2003; but most recently, it has become an attractor for nightlife and arts events due to its location near I-35 and several restaurants and bars. In 1896, Union Pacific Railroad arrived in Robstown with new tracks through McLennan County making it one of the first communities ever located on what would becomeTexas' major railroads! The town quickly became an agricultural center with farmers growing corn, beans, wheat, cottonseed oil & other crops while also manufacturing items such as shoes & saddles out of local wood until WWII when production moved to Mexico & then Japan due to war efforts! After WWII ended however, many people returned home with memories of good times spent at home so soon after great changes had occurred throughout our community! This period marked what would be called “The Roaring Twenties” for much of us hereabouts………..until…..in 2003 whenTXU closed its campus there not long after we celebrated 30 Years since arriving here from London………………….a time capsule that will remain open indefinitely hereabouts !!!

Robstown is a small town in Lampasas County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Robstown were Anglo-Americans who settled there around 1875. They were farmers and ranchers who grew corn, cotton, and other goods that they sold on the open prairies outside of town. In 1916, a post office was established in Robstown; it remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1985. The early residents of Robstown were Protestants who followed Presbyterianism or Roman Catholicism. As the only Protestant community within miles of Austin, they had access to religious services and educational opportunities that were not available to other citizens of the city. This led to some tension between those who subscribed to one faith system and those who did not; however, over time this tension turned into cooperation as both groups tried to benefit from their proximity to one another. In 1927, oil was discovered near Robstown; this led to an aggressive drilling campaign by developers which caused many businesses and residents alike to relocate southward into nearby Round Rock or Austin proper. By 1935, all but two of the original homes in town had been built – one being occupied by Confederate veterans as a Memorial Day home for their honored service during World War II (it still stands today). As oil production dwindled throughout the 1970s and 1980s, jobs went away along with corresponding revenues for local governments across Texas; however, Robstown has continued to experience population growth since then thanks largely to its ties with Austin and its growing regional economy. Today’s community offers plenty of amenities for its expanding populace such as a library/museum combo (opened in 2006), parks & playgrounds for children (including a new baseball diamond just completed), grocery stores (three located within walking distance since 2009), numerous restaurants including several Chain restaurant chains (all but one closed since 2013), bowling alley/golf course/spa complex(opened 2014), tennis center(opened 2015) as well as more than 12 specialty shops/cafes/bars inside various business districts throughout downtown while also maintaining significant retail presence via its own smaller shopping malls scattered throughout central Lampasas County
In the 1870s, Robstown was a small farming community located in east Texas. The town organized in 1876 and quickly became a center of trade and culture in eastern Texas. In the early 1920s, Robstown experienced significant growth as it became the site of the largest oil well ever drilled in East Texas. The town also experienced rapid housing development during this time. By the 1940s, Robstown had eclipsed its previous economic importance as an agricultural community to become a major shopping and cultural center for eastern Texas.
