Rosenberg, Texas is a small town located in southern McLennan County, Texas. The population was 4,812 at the 2010 census. Rosenberg was founded in 1868 by German immigrants. In 1927, Rosenberg incorporated as a town. The initial population of Rosenberg was 805. It grew to 1,527 by 1930 and 2,027 by 1940. The population peaked at 3,711 in 1960 and declined to 3,522 by 2000. However, the growth rate has slowed since then and the 2010 census reported that the population had decreased to 4,812. Rosenberg is named after Rudolph Hess who was imprisoned in concentration camps in Germany during World War II. After his release from prison in 1945, he moved to Rosenberg and started a business selling bread products from a truck stop on Ulysses S. Grant Boulevard near Interstate 35W (now I-35W Business Loop). When the war ended and reconstruction began in postwar America, Hess's business became successful because of its close proximity to interstate highways and access to markets outside of Houston

Rosenberg, Texas is a small town located in East County, Texas. Rosenberg was founded by German immigrants in 1879. The original settlers were named Gross and Hirsch. The post office was established in 1880, and the town received its name from Rabbi Abraham Rosenberg of Houston. In 1907, the first school opened in Rosenberg. The population of Rosenberg grew to about 100 residents by 1920. In 1938, the Rosenberg Independent School District was formed from parts of the Alvin Independent School District. In 1945, atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, resulting in World War II sending many people fleeing to find new homes. Many of these refugees settled in Rosenberg. By 1960, Rosenberg had increased its population to over 200 residents and had added a high school and two churches to its infrastructure. By 1970, the community had only one church left and no high schools available for students or adults; as a result, most citizens attended nearby local universities or worked at local businesses. However, due to continued economic decline and rising tuition rates at local universities (due largely to oil production), many residents decided to move away from Rosenberg in the early 21st century. However, some families remain who live within walking distance of their old hometown since they believe that living close to family is what makes life worth living – something that has been central to their culture throughout history Rosenberg started as a small German farming village near Houston on October 15th 1879 when 4 farmers including Ludwig Grosse set out from Wernigerode Germany with 14 oxen into a bad location which offered little water but great country . They took another 12 days traveling Along open Prairie Desert before arriving at what is now known as "Rosenberg." There were few buildings then so they built themselves some huts out of logs & Matsch with dirt laid down around them selves before getting friendly with their neighbors who welcomed them warmly! Then it was just business as usual learning how to farm & trade goods with other villages along the way- This included trading horses back & forth between USA & Europe which helped keep us connected during those tough times! Today you can still see many items used back then like saddles & bridles now found mostly on antique auctions etc…The Original Post Office opened January 1st 1881 with 2 Elder James Macdougall(Gross) helpers+ 3 Friendlies George Aiken+ John O’Keefe Sr.(Hirsch)

The Rosenbergs were pioneers in the cotton industry and their farmstead became one of the most important cotton plantations in Texas. In 1882, Isaac Rosenberg passed away and his widow continued to run the farm until her death in 1923. The business continued to be run by their descendants until it was sold to a group of investors in 1973. The ranch continues to be operated as a cattle ranch today.
