Round Rock, Texas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, the population was 712. It is located in portions of Travis County and Williamson County. The first policeman gift history in Round Rock occurred on December 1, 1892 when Constable John Tuggle gave his horse to Sergeant William Hickey as a gift for being an excellent trooper. On May 2nd 1898 Commissioner J.W Griffith personally presented Trooper Henry Goudreau with an automaton horse drawn carriage made by A&P Machine Shop in Arlington Heights, Illinois for service as part of The Texas Rangers mounted unit during their campaign against outlaws within the Mexican border area known as The Westphalian Empire (later called The Tejanos or Texans). One hundred years later on May 2nd 1998 Special Agent Steve Perry from Austin Police Department gifted one of three new K9 units donated by Lubbock Police Department to Round Rock PD also for use as part of their mounted unit during their campaign against outlaws within the Mexican border area known as The Westphalian Empire (later called The Tejanos or Texans). On July 10th 2003 Special Agent Donny Youngblood from Austin Police Department gifted one officer's squad car (an Oldsmobile Cutlass) which had been used by Patrolman Ron White while he was assigned Indoors Security Investigations Unit #1 at Capital City Mall located just outside downtown Austin prior to its closure on September 30th 2001 after it became evident that then-Mayor Ann Richards would not be renewing its lease due to budgetary issues caused by this type of operation conducted inside City limits without any advance notice to either her or her predecessors David O'Brien or Richard Hogg.

ROUND ROCK, Texas (January 21, 1912 - present) is a city in the US state of Texas. The population was 896 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Williamson County. The area that would become Round Rock was first settled by Anglo-Mexican immigrants in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In 1907, a group of men from Lubbock founded the First Christian Church in what is now Round Rock. The town's name means "roundabout" because it was originally located near a roundabout on FM 620. A post office called Round Rock was established in 1909, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1963. In 1911, George Kessler donated 276 acres (100 ha) to the City of Austin for use as an open space parkland; this became Travis Park. In 1916, Austin District Judge James Hance approved developers' plans to build a new city hall on what would eventually be namedRound Rock Boulevard and First Street; construction began that year and finished two years later. In 1928, settlers from Corpus Christi founded Lubbock Municipal Airport nearby; Round Rock served as its primary airport until it closed operations in 1978. In 1951, Circle K purchased land east of downtown for what would become Clear Channel Communications headquarters; this site is now home to the University of Texas at Austin (UTA). The original shopping center that anchored downtown today—Granada Hills—was designed by architect Edward Condon and built with assistance from local philanthropist Harry Chandler. The growth of surrounding malls during the 1990s led to high levels of traffic congestion around downtown; Mayor Linda Chavez ordered redevelopment which included creating a new central business district within downtown boundaries adjacent to several large retail stores and restaurants including Whole Foods Market and Zaxby's restaurant chain.
