In 1949, John Eller established the first package store in Sachse and continues to serve quality coffee today. The Crawford Coffee Company also opened in 1951 and remains one of the most popular java purveyors in town today.

The first coffee beans were brought to Sachse by John Fitch in 1838 from his farm near Sparta, Tennessee. He became known for his "Fitch's Coffee" brand of coffee. In 1872, Achille Goff bought the Fitch Coffee company and renamed it Achille Goff & Sons Coffee Company. In 1906, Achille Goff passed away and his son Alfred took over as head of the company. Alfred Goff continued to operate the company until his death in 1978. In 1984, Eagle Roastery was founded in Sachse by two friends who purchased a small lot adjacent to Achille Goff's old plant on Main Street. Eagle Roastery is one of America's oldest roasted coffee roasters and has been located in Sachse since its inception.EagleRoc

Sachse, Texas is a small town in the U.S. state of Texas that is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. The population was 5,711 as of the 2010 census. Sachse was founded in 1872 by German immigrants who named it after their native land, Sachsenhausen near Weimar, Germany. It became a cattle stop on the Chisholm Trail and later a base for local farmers and ranchers during the early years of both American and Texan ranching. Its post office served until 1915. The first school in Sachse was built on a family farm in 1872-1873 by Drs Johann Gottlieb Bach (1786-1875) and Wilhelm Müller (1815-1900). A second school building was erected in 1883 on what is now Main Street; this structure continued to serve as an elementary school until 1923 when it became an all-girls school called Stonewall Jackson Female Collegiate School. In 1907, the town voted to incorporate as a village under the name "Sachse". The first mayor was John Hargrave (1907-1910). In 1916, General Douglas MacArthur traveled through Sachse on his way toOklahoma City where he would lead United States forces into World War I There are several accounts how MacArthur's visit affected locals: One account said that he stopped at Main Street Station to buy some groceries before continuing his journey; another said that he dined with local ranchers at the expense of nearby residents who were protesting against federal troops presence; still others claim that he toured local businesses before stopping at home for dinner with then Mayor John Hargrave In 1922, after years of deliberation, voters decided not to annex back into Sachse but instead create its own independent municipality - which they did name "Dallas/Fort Worth/Sachse" . On May 1st 1929 - just 12 months prior to his death - MacArthur had donated land across from Main Street Station so that new high schools could be built there including Arlington High School which opened in 1931 and Dallas Heights High School which opened in 1935 The original grocery store building remains standing today as part of Achille's Pizza & Sub Shop located off US HWY 287 west of downtown Dallas
