Sachse, Texas is a city in Midland County, Texas, United States. The population was 21,752 at the 2000 census. Sachse is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area and is the largest city within that region. It lies on the banks of the Trinity River and has a humid subtropical climate. The first mention of Sachse comes from 1827 as "Sacha" in an original patent for lands east of Will Rogers Boulevard. A post office called Sachse was established in 1907, and remained in operation until it closed in 1998. The town's name may be derived from German settlers' spelling of "Schacht", meaning 'a shortcut or path'. On July 14, 1907, local citizens met to choose a new home for the town after finding they could not all agree on where to place it. They voted to move to present-day Sachse from nearby Garland because they thought it would be less windy there and its surroundings were more level than those around Garland. In 1914, railroad track was laid through Sachse making it an important center for commerce during World War I when goods flowed into war-torn Europe via the then newly opened railroads. Apostle Wm Hargrave founded First Presbyterian Church (now Baylor University) in 1912 across from what is now Baylor University's main Quadrangle building; he also founded First Baptist Church which still meets there today (though with a smaller congregation). The two churches are considered sister denominations today due to their common roots in evangelical Christianity dating back centuries before other denominations Split up over denominational differences about sexuality/the Bible interpretation etc.). An early cotton gin located near current day Baylor University served as one of Sachse's main economic engines until that plant closed circa 1925 due to vandalism by students and others associated with local institutions such as Baylor University at that time! In 1916 developer Wm Gentry built what became known as Gentry House on land donated by Pastor John Hargrave II - long ago passed down through various families who have occupied it including Driscoll family members currently living on Farmington Drive adjacent to Biola University - just south/west of downtown Sachse proper off Slaughter Road some distance away from McClintock Rd but accessible only by footbridge over Slaughter Creek; this house remain(s) standing today even though measures have been taken recently (euphemistically terms like demolition job having been used herein), portions thereof having been razed so as not disturb any historical values should redevelopment ever occur which seems increasingly likely given present political conditions

The Grange Home Museum is located in Sachse and preserves the history of theGrange Home School District which operated from 1902 to 1959 in Sachse. The Grange Home Museum also has artifacts from the First Baptist Church which services are held every Sunday morning at 10:00am starting at age 6 weeks old up to adults and their families from Wichita Falls and surrounding counties who come to worship with us each week!
