The original plaza where today's Plaza de Mayo stands was located on 4th Street SW between I-25W and US-101W just south of present day El Paso Boulevard NW cornering 4th Streets SW/NW between I-25W & US-101E about two blocks east of what are now Serna Street & Elmhurst Avenue NW corridor entranceways leading to Plaza de Mayo redevelopment area currently zoned as an office park off I-25 exit ramp off Loop 410 freeway southbound; originally developed as early 20th century rural farmsteads scattered throughout much of eastern New Mexico before becoming heavily urbanized areas adjacent to major metropolitan areas during late 20th century due to suburban development patterns resulting from oil exploration opportunities within NM’s borders
