The Santa Fe National Guard is one of the oldest national guard units in the United States. The unit was organized on December 15, 1861, when a group of citizens from Santa Fe formed a volunteer militia to help protect their town during the American Civil War. The unit fought in many battles and served as part of the Union army until 1865. After the war, many of these veterans returned to Santa Fe and began to form local militias. On April 6, 1875, a group of men from Santa Fe organized themselves into a national guard unit under the command of Colonel James W. Patton. The first unit was made up of about 50 soldiers and saw action at the Battle of Adobe Walls in southern New Mexico. In 1903, Congress passed an act calling for an all-female battalion known as "The Pioneer Battalion." This battalion was soon disbanded due to lack of volunteers but its name continued to be used by other units until it was inherited by the current Santa Fe National Guard on October 1, 1945. Today, members of the SantaFe National Guard can come from anywhere in America for service in any capacity; whether it's providing security or support services such as ceremonial duties or military training. In addition to basic training and deployments here in New Mexico, members also serve overseas with troops stationed in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And because federal law dictates that all Guardsmen have at least two years experience before they are eligible for retirement (a process that usually takes five years), there's always someone available to answer questions about what this nation's favorite green team is doing today!

Santa Fe, Texas is a city in New Mexico. It is the county seat of Santa Fe County. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. As of December 2015, the city's estimated population was 2,814. The Battle of Santa Fe (1846) was fought between United States forces and Mexico during the Mexican-American War. The first post office in Santa Fe was established on December 6, 1871. In 1905, the town had a population of 1,000 people and it became an incorporated municipality in 1912. Santa Fe has been home to several colleges and universities including UNM and New Mexico State University - Las Cruces (NM State). The city also hosts two major sporting events annually: The Albuquerque Bowl football game and the Santa Fe Fiesta Bowl boxing match between TCU and USF. In 1916, Mayor Edward Dickson erected a statue of General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna outside City Hall to mark his victory over Mexican troops at Monterrey River Bridge near present-day San Miguel de Allende; this event is sometimes referred to as "the battle of San Miguel". Construction began on what would become known as "Dickson Park" in memory of Mayor Dickson's dedication to Parks & Recreation which he called "a quality department that makes our community one that people can enjoy." In 1965 UNM reopened its original main campus after years closed due to budget cuts following World War II. One year later IMAX opened its doors in downtown SantaFe with world-renowned films such as Star Wars Episode IV – A New Hope being screened there for almost 20 years! Today downtown SantaFe still features many businesses like Macy’s Department store which anchor Main Street while other large anchors include Pabst Blue Ribbon Brewery (now part of Anheuser Busch), Best Buy Co., Office Depot/JCPenney/, Wells Fargo Bank / HSBC bank branch( now Jardín), Arroyo Texaco Service Station(now BP), Pizza Hut - across from Walmartrainbow outlet converted into Target - KFC then Dunkin' Donuts all facing onto Plaza de la Constitución opposite current day Hotel Esperanza opposite old Presidio County Jail currently used by Hidalgo County Sheriff Dept for overflow inmates from nearby jail

At various points in its history, the National Guard has been used to provide manpower for local militias, or as an adjunct to the military. Today, the National Guard is one of the most popular tourist attractions in America, and it is also an important part of the American Defense System. The first national guard unit was raised in 1775 when Massachusetts called up 2,000 men from across the country to help fight against British troops. The unit was known as "the company" and did not have a specific purpose or mission. For many years following independence, the National Guard operated under a variety of names and purposes. In 1815, Congress passed a bill creating a national guard regiment specifically for protecting American interests on our southern border with Mexico. This regiment became known as "the 1st Ulysses S Grant's Regiment." In 1849, Congress created another national guard regiment- this time called "the 9th United States Infantry." This regiment served in various roles until 1861 when it was drafted into Confederate service and fought under General Robert E Lee against Union forces at Bull Run Creek. Afterward, the regiment returned home and resumed garrison duty near Boston until 1865 when it joined forces with other military units loyal to President Abraham Lincoln in order to fight against Confederate General John Custer during his campaign to reach Richmond through Indiana Territory. Aftermath of war saw many changes within both federal government and state governments as result of Civil War - including creation of new permanent military formations (National Guards) throughout country which still play an important role today!

SantaFe was founded by Juan de Frontera in 1695 on the east side of what is now downtown Albuquerque. The city's first mayor was Don Francisco de la Vega y Terreros, who served from 1726 until his death in 1792. By 1800, Santa Fe had over 20,000 residents and was home to the first steamboat docking at a natural harbor on the Rio Grande River. In 1854, during the Mexican-American War (1846-48), General Antonio López de Santa Anna occupied Albuquerque and ordered all men inside the city limits must wear red armbands to identify them as U.S. military prisoners. Many local citizens refused to do so and were arrested or killed. As a result, Santa Fe became an open air prison for Mexicans for nine months until September 8th when it finally closed after more than 1,000 inmates had been caught without Red Armbands
