The USS Sulphur Springs (SSN-7) was a Navy ship that served in the Vietnam War. She was deployed to Southeast Asia in 1973 and 1974 as part of the 5th Fleet. The USS Sulphur Springs played an important role during these deployments by providing medical assistance to troops and evacuating casualties. She also conducted anti-submarine warfare patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin and off South Vietnam. In 1975, the USS Sulphur Springs was decommissioned and sold to private interests. However, she continued to be used as a marina property until her sale in 2006. Since her sale, theUSS Sulphur Springs has been undergoing restoration project which is expected to be complete by 2019. This ship is significant for its deployment history and is now being restored for public display.

Sulphur Springs, Texas is a small town in the Panhandle of Texas. It was founded in 1881 by John Sulphur and his family. The population was 2,577 at the 2000 census. The name Sulphur Springs comes from the springs that are located here. The Sulphur Springs Post Office was established in 1881. In 1907, it became a general store and grocery store called The Gilded Cage. In 1916, it became a hotel and bed and breakfast called The Bluebonnet. In 1921, it became a post office again with the name Sulphur Springs Post Office & Hotel. In 1925, Sulphur Springs had its own radio station WOAI-TV which broadcast until 1978 when KFAA-TV took over operations. Today, there is only an amateur radio station operating here known as WB3ZBB which is licensed to serve Sulphur Spring Village on FM frequency 97.5 MHz Today's economy of Sulphur Spring Village depends largely on agriculture such as farming, ranching and wheat production as well as tourism which brings people to visit this charming town full of historical landmarks including: the Old General Store built in 1907; The Gilded Cage General Store where you can buy anything from groceries to clothing; Bluebonnet Bed& Breakfast operated since 1916;and now also the newest addition - The Sulpher Springs Resort - offers luxury bedrooms with private bathrooms complete with all modern amenities!

Sulphur Springs, Texas was a small town in Midland County, Texas, that was founded in 1881. The community developed around the Sulphur Springs water works. The Works were started by William Troup and were used to produce potash and other goods for local farmers. In 1905, the Sulphur Springs School District was formed and the town became part of it. In 1954, Sulphur Springs was merged into Midland County. It has since lost its status as a small town and is now an agricultural center with a population of about 350 people.

By the early 1900s, Sulphur Springs had grown to include a number of businesses and homes. The community experienced significant growth during World War II, when it became an important munitions production center. In the 1950s, Sulphur Springs began to decline as the population dwindled and manufacturing moved out of the area. However, after several decades of revitalization, the town has regained its former prosperity and diversity.
