Navy gifts have been a part of the Terrell community for many years. In 1915, Admiral Chester Nimitz donated two torpedo boats to the town as a presents for Mayor Harry H. Greer and other civic officials. The torpedoes were used in World War I and were returned to the navy in 1919. In 1948, Rear Admiral John J. Stockton donated a set of arms for the town hall. The arms are now displayed at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. Ulysses S. Grant was born in Terrell on October 12, 1814 and died there on December 14, 1885. He was an American general who served during both world wars and is considered one of history's greatest leaders. In 1958, Navy Commander Franklin Pendergast gifted three destroyers to Terrell as a gift for its military service during the Korean War. The ships were renamed USS Pendergast (DD-8), USS Pembroke (PF-1) and USS Porter (CV-21).

The town of Terrell, Texas is a small, agricultural community located in the panhandle of Texas. The population was 1,260 at the 2000 census. It is named after Confederate General Robert E. Lee, who fought in the Battle of Gettysburg and died there in July 1863. The town was founded by farmers in 1878. The cotton gin and other industry developed in Terrell during the late 1800s and early 1900s; however, it closed its doors in the 1960s amid competition from larger towns such as Amarillo and Wichita Falls. Today, Terrell's main economic activity is agriculture; however, it also has a limited number of businesses that provide services to the local community. There are several churches inTerrell; one of which is dedicated to Stonewall Jackson. One important aspect of life for residents here revolves around their history and culture: many people keep traditional African American dishes such as "jalapeno pie" alive through cooking contests or potluck meals that often feature these recipes as part of the meal plan. Additionally, there are numerous art galleries and museums open to the public throughout the year; some notable examples include The Wallace Collection at Yale University and The Amon Carter Museum of American Art.

Terrell, Texas is a small town located in Hays County, Kansas. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita metropolitan area. The community was organized on May 18, 1886, when a group of men from Terrell and Dodge City met to discuss forming a town. On October 15, 1886, the first meeting of the Terrell Township Board was held in a barn at the corner of First and Main Streets. The name for the new community was chosen by lot and it was called "Dodge City." In February 1907 there were 9 residents living in Dodge City who had moved to Terrell because they thought it would be more business-like than Dodge City which they considered to be unorganized and backward. The first post office opened in coach on April 14, 1907. In 1911 people from Dodge City formed an agricultural society known as "The Grapes" to improve farming methods around here. On November 6th 1916 citizens of Terrell voted to become independent from Hays County when they ratified an ordinance creating their own government with its own schools and voting system. They voted 108-1 in favor of independence which made them one of only two towns inKansas after Topeka incorporation (the other being Shawnee) that did not secede during World War II. Sometime between 1945 and 1951 another school building was built on North Main Street which served as both the high school and early childhood education center for Terrell until it closed down due to low enrollment around 1970s or 1980s according to some sources however according to current records this structure still stands today!
