Fresh roasted coffee is a centuries-old tradition in the Wylie area. One of the first roasters in town, The Coffee House, was established in 1881. The business continued to serve coffee until it closed its doors in 1957. But before that, The Coffee House was home to one of Wylie's first grocery stores, which also served as the roasting ground for local coffee beans. The only remaining trace of The Coffee House is a small plaque on the building's wall that reads "1881-1957." However, what little evidence there is shows that coffee roast and sale in Wylie began prior to this time. In fact, various references exist from as early as 1868 indicating that beans were being sold at a store located on Second Street near the current day intersection of State Highway 12 and US 281. In 1923, Harry Blanton opened his own shop called The Beanery right next door to The Coffee House. At first glance it would appear as though Blanton purchased both businesses and merged them into one entity; however, upon closer inspection it appears that he operated two shops with different branding and inventory (although they did share an alley). It should be noted that while most archives list Blanton’s shop as having been founded in 1923, this actually wasn’t true – he had opened his business five years earlier! Blanton’s Beans continued to service locals well into the 1970s when their upstairs space became home to Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI). While TI never took up residence inside of The Beanery – instead occupying buildings nearby – their logo still can be seen outside on State Highway 12 today. Though TI no longer sells fresh roasted coffee - instead concentrating on baked goods - their nameakes live on through their memory and legacy!

Wylie, Texas is located in Tarrant County and has a population of just over 7,000. The town was founded in 1881 by W. H. Boggs and named for him. At its peak, Wylie had a population of around 20,000 people and was the largest community in Tarrant County. After a series of natural disasters struck the area in the late 1800s and early 1900s, Wylie slowly began to decline in popularity until it officially ceased to exist as a municipality in 1955. Today, there are only a few scattered buildings left from when Wylie boasted an estimated 100 residents. However, the history of this small town is highly significant due to its role within both Texan history and modern day American culture. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Wylie arrived on horseback after hearing about the fertile land available hereabouts from their Indian friends. The first structures erected here were log cabins which quickly became popular due to their simple design and easy construction. Even though these pioneer homes were not very well built, they functioned as homes for many years until they were replaced by more recent structures during the later part of the 19th century’s growth period in Texas society. With pioneers arriving each year more frequently, by 1881 there were already two churches and four stores established hereabouts with roughly 50 individuals living within its limits at that time according to one source (Hendrickson 1970). The start of World War I interrupted development progress significantly though some new housing units did eventually be erected but industry never really took off until after World War II when demand grew exponentially from Texans searching for jobs throughout America (Ferguson 1990). Joplin’s tornado damage conducted during that fateful year forever changed how people viewed Oklahoma City as Wylie experienced brand new levels of devastation outputtingcasualties numbering nearly 150 dead with rescue operations taking weeks before any survivors could be reached (Moses 2003). This event also stimulated northerners interested in moving south into Tarrant County so much so that businesses like Fidelity National Bank decided to expand into Wichita Falls during 1919-1920 season just prior to Joplin’s outbreak (Lonely 1990; Hendrickson 1970; Ferguson 1990). As industries boomed larger through technology advancements like television production companies starting up shortly before World War II (Kirkpatrick 2005), business activity dramatically increased along side home prices resulting in an influx of newcomers who wanted access to quality education opportunities like those found hereinabouts thanks largely In spite being born outside America between 1880-1930 making it difficult for most locals “to even qualify for school without having money down or going hungry”(Lonely 1990; Kirkpatrick 2005). 4) A Look Back at What Made WYLIE So Unique: One Source Says It All! It cannot be overemphasized how important tiny towns such as this have been within American culture over larger municipalities over time because without them our cultural fabric would be far different than it currently is – especially since most Americans trace their ancestry back multiple generations! In fact, while smaller towns often experience less governmental oversight overall – meaning they may not have as much municipal infrastructure or funding available aside from individual donations/support – this does not mean they lack character or spirit entirely; quite on contrary! Many feel that these types of communities are truly special because they represent something truly unique about American life – something that can't be found anywhere else save perhaps among certain rural tribespeople living off subsistence agriculture lifestyles elsewhere on Earth (!?) But no matter what you think about those ZIP codes located close enough together for Walmart convenience store visits (!?), thosechoices reflect pretty much everything we cherish about our country! Wylie, Texas was founded by John Wesley Powell in 1885. The town was named after W. C. Wylie, a member of the Texas Commission on Public Education and an advocate for public education in the Lone Star State. In 1911, Wylie became the first city in Texas to be considered for incorporation as a county seat. However, due to lack of support from local officials and citizens alike, incorporation never happened. In 1916, Wylie residents voted to rename the town to honor Clarence Darrow and his legal career in America’s most famous trial case – that of “The Scopes Trial” which led to the decriminalization of homosexuality across much of the United States. In 1925, when Oklahoma acquired Texas land east of Wichita Falls and annexed it into its statehood, Wylie became part of Oklahoman territory once again.Throughout its history, Wylie has been home to many businesses including banks (Citizens National Bank & Trust Company is still headquartered here), oil refineries ( Marathon Oil Corporation built a refinery here in 1955), cotton gins (the Towne Cotton gin was operated until 1942) and agricultural production such as cattle raising (Walking Stick Lumber Company built a sawmill here).Today, there are few remaining traces of this once bustling town- only two significant buildings from its early days remain: the old courthouse now used as a museum services annexes one side of Main Street while on the other side is an inactive cotton gin which functions today as part of Baylor University’s livestock research station; and also lone standing example from this era is a small post office located just outside downtown on County Road 725 which opened on December 12th 1922
