The Aberdeen Coast Guard Station was established in 1915, and has been a part of the Aberdeen Municipal government since that time. The Coast Guard Station is responsible for all law enforcement activities on the Northwest coast of Washington, as well as monitoring the local waterways. In addition to providing security on the waterfront and aiding in fisheries protection, the Coast Guard Station also provides a variety of other services such as historical research, education opportunities, and emergency response. In 2001, the station came into being an Associate Member of NORAD. The station's mission remains unchanged - to provide support to our neighbors along the Northwest coast.
