This led to the introduction of "bean bodega" style stores across America where customers could buy all sorts of different types and grades of beans from local growers directly. After World War II ended, two men who were instrumental in creating modern roasting techniques - Bob Evans and Donatas Bananas - started working at K&K's Coffee Shop . They developed methods for milling coffees with finer grinds so that they would be less bitter and easier to drink without having any sugar added back into them like earlier roasters did. This allowed for an even more complex flavor profile with less bitterness while still being easydrinkable; something that continues to be important today! On November 5th, 2007 – one hundred fifty years after Beans Begin – K&K's Coffee Shop reopened its doors with freshly roasted Arabica beans from select farms near Seattle (including those within Anacortes). This event was commemorated by hosting a ceremonial cupcake tossnationale which featured sixty nine local vendors providing seventy six cups (of various grades) worth of delicious refreshment!

Anacortes is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,544 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1853 as Anacortes Landing on Puget Sound by Rear Admiral George Vancouver and his ship HMS Beagle. In 1861, when the U.S. Navy built its first Naval Station at Anacortes (then known as Puget Sound Naval Shipyard), the town became an installation of the Coast Guard on land bought from Juan de Fuca's estate. The towns growth continued with the opening of other stations until 1959 when all but one were closed down due to budget cuts within the Navy Department. After years of discussion and planning by then-Mayor John Dyer, Anacortes was incorporated as a city on September 3, 1984 by unanimous vote of its citizens after years of petitioning and organizing themselves into a city government under a mayor/council system similar to that in neighboring Bellevue. On December 5th 2009 Mayor Ed Murray announced that they will be annexing neighbouring Puyallup into Anacortes effective January 1st 2010 through what is called annexation ratification process which has already taken place in Puyallup; however no action has been taken yet on this matter by City Manager Jim O’Malley or Mayor Murray himself
