It was during this time that Jabal al-Mabhouh, a Bedouin trader and native of Damascus, began importing coffee from Java. He forwarded these beans to his friend Peter Cooper in London for refinement. Soon after, Bellevue became known as the "Coffee Capital of the World" because it provided quality beans to cafes all over Europe. In 1907, Bellevue's first bottling plant opened its doors. This facility would become one of the most famous in the world due to its prestigious name and well-known products. The company continued production until 1968 when it merged with two other companies to form PepsiCo Incorporated (PepsiCo today). The Bellevue Coffee Museum is located adjacent to this iconic building on First Avenue in Bellevue which preserves both the history and legacy of this industry-leading company.

Bellevue is located on the southeast shore of Lake Washington and straddles the border of Seattle and Everett. It is bordered by Issaquah to the north, Bellevue to the east, Redmond to the south, and Bothell to the west. The name "Bellevue" comes from French for "place where peas grow." The first known permanent settler in Bellevue was Capt. George Vancouver who arrived in 1792 with his ship Discovery. He named his new settlement after himself and his son-in-lawSir John Colville who had also landed there earlier that year on HMS Resolution. The first post office was established in 1848; it was moved from Yelm to Bellevue in 1865 when that city became part of King County. In 1872 Bellevue incorporated as a village under the name North Seattle; it reverted to its prior name of North Seattle in 1907 when annexation of Everett made that city an independent town. In 1944 BellevUE became home to America's largest smokehouse when General Motors built an ammonia plant there called Westlundsmoke House Number One (WSHO). That plant closed down in 2008 but left behind a large mess which still remains today: one side of WSHO measures over 50 feet wide and more than 20 feet tall! The community has undergone many changes throughout its history including being annexed by Seattle multiple times including twice during World War II; being abandoned following wars with nearby Tacoma; becoming a center for computer technology industry growth through Microsoft ; experiencing some growth due largely to annexation by Everett during economic recession ; however most recently experiencing significant growth thanks largely to annexation by Bothell giving residents direct access into Lake Washington

Bellevue, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 12,858 at the 2010 census. Bellevue is located on the eastern edge of Seattle and is bordered by Issaquah to the east and Redmond to the north. The first American settlers in Bellevue were farmers who arrived around 1851. They named their community after Mount Vernon, Virginia. In 1865, Bellevue became part of Seattle and was renamed Bellevue Heights. It remained an agricultural community until the early 20th century when industrialization began to take hold in King County. By 1925, Bellevue had become one of King County's largest cities with a population of over 200,000 people. This growth led to intense social and political competition within city limits which has often been characterized as being "one-sided". Bellevue experienced its first significant crime wave during World War II when Japanese civilians were rounded up and held as hostages by US forces. These events have been documented in various books and movies including "Eleanor" (1946) and "The Bridge Over Troubled Water" (1957). After the war ended, many blue-collar workers moved out ofKing county into other areas due to high cost of living and lack of opportunity in Bellevue City Limits. This migration left behind a largely white working-class population that became increasingly polarized along racial lines during the late 20th century through issues such as race riots that took place throughout Seattle during this time period

The post office which served Bellevue from 1853 to 1916 was renamed Seattle in 1916 after the city of Seattle, then part of Canada. In 1924, Bellevue became an incorporated city with its own government; it remains an unincorporated community today.
