As the world's largest coffee producer, Burien has a rich coffee history that can be traced back to 1890. The first coffee beans were imported from Java and grown in the hills of central Washington. By 1915, coffee was being sold at local farmers' markets and roastinghouses throughout the Puget Sound area. In 1925, the first espresso machine was invented in Seattle and soon burin (a type of grinding) became popular for makingground coffee. In 1960, Starbucks opened its doors in Seattle and quickly became a sensation within the city's vibrant espresso scene. Coffee shops across the United States followed suit, introducing their own unique styles and flavors to the market. Over time, many small-scale roasteries have closed or been acquired by larger companies; however, some of Burien's most famous artisanal coffees continue to produce quality beans today.

Burien is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 27,890 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in Northwest Washington after Seattle. The name of the city comes from the word "burien" which means "place of small cedar trees." Burien is located on Puget Sound between Seattle and Tacoma and has a total area of 21 square miles (57 km2). The first permanent European settlement in what is today Burien was made by Captain George Vancouver in 1792 when he landed on Bainbridge Island. In 1851, John Wesley Stenhouse built a sawmill on the shoreline of Puget Sound to produce lumber for ships sailing up and down the Strait of Juan de Fuca. In 1872, American businessman Daniel Burnham invested $1 million (£752,000) in land that would become Burien and named it after him. He used part of his fortune to build a large park called Burnham Park across from downtown which still remains an important center for culture and recreation today. In 1886, Burritt & Company began conducting freight shipments along Puget Sound using paddleboats to connect Seattle with Olympia via tidewater shipping routes. This increased traffic along Burritt Boulevard gave rise to concerns about possible demolition or closure of Burritt Boulevard due to its width – now known as Marine Drive – leading to what became known as "the battle of Burritt Boulevard". A public meeting was held on May 3, 1886 attended by representatives from various businesses within town center discussing how best to handle this increasing traffic congestion; suggestions included widening Burritt Boulevard into a two-lane road with left turn lanes at all intersections; creating an elevated expressway through town center; or building new docks/machinery storage facilities on either side of MacArthur Boulevard near Northlake High School so that all these vehicles could be unloaded onto one platform then driven away without stopping for pedestrians or cars! Ultimately no decisions were made but resulted in further development along Marine Drive including future shopping malls such as CenturyLink Field and Safeco FieldToday, much like many other aspects of early 20th century life hereabouts -Burien's rich history can still be experienced by visiting its many attractions: The Burke Museum District contains several museums dating back over 100 years including The Seattle History Museum (founded 1904), Pike Place Market (founded 1907), Pioneer Square (established 1907), and Arboretum & Botanical Gardens adjacent to Central Library are popular tourist destinations while Canoeing Adventures operates outfitting vessels rentals throughout Puget Sound year-round
When coffee was first invented, it was a small business. The first roaster in the world, Turkish Coffee House in Venice, started roasting beans in their homes. Coffee continued to be roasted and sold by small businesses until the early 1800s when coffee became more industrialized. This change led to different flavors and styles of coffee being produced which were not as consistent as today's grocery store coffees. The first modern espresso machine was created by Angelo Sanzio in 1875. However, espresso machines only became popular in the late 1800s and early 1900s when they could make high-quality coffee at a lower cost than buying ground beans from a grocery store. In 1907, Italians began importing French press coffee instead of home-roasted beans because French Press technology allowed for greater flavor variations and a more even grind on each cup than traditional Italian roasters did. At this point, most Americans had also discoveredFrench Press coffee and begun taking it up as their own style of coffee that they enjoyed. During World War II, baristas working at military bases throughout the country developed methods of makingespresso that were unique to those stationed there. These methods included using forced air heating pads to produce an even heat across all areas of the cup while still producing strong drinks; using two Belleville filters per shot (the standard at that time); using an automatic milk frother; and using breakable open cups with metal rims to break down foam before brewing each shot. After the war ended, many people who had learned these techniques transitioned into full-time baristas where they would continue developing new ways to make delicious espresso despite technological advances over the years which have made our beverages much more standardized today!

The first permanent resident of what is now Burien was John Wesley Powell in 1892. At that time it was a small settlement on the banks of Lake Union and named after the nearby British watering hole of the same name. By 1912, when Burien became a city, it had a population of 100 residents and was served by its own police department. The first mayor of Burien was Wm. Sperry, who also served as vice president of Seattle's waterworks company from 1911 to 1913 and as treasurer from 1915 to 1917. In 1924, burien got its own newspaper which would remain in operation until 1994 when it merged with The Herald Tribune (now Northwest News Group).
