The Navy has a rich history in Centralia, Washington. The Centralia Naval Air Station was established in 1938 and the first naval air station in the Pacific Northwest. It served as an air base for the Battle of Midway, World War II. In 1946, the navy moved its operations to Naval Air Station Lewis and Clark when that station was opened. The navy also conducted training at Lewis and Clark from 1947-1951. In 1971, Naval Air Station Joint Base Lewis-Clark (NBLC) was transferred from the United States Coast Guard to the navy. NBLC became home to both Fleet Marine Force Squadron 2 (FMF-2) squadronrons and Helicopter Squadron 4 (HS-4). HS-4 became operational on 1 October 1974 with the purchase of three donated Bell Boeing AH1C helicopters which had been used by Marine Aircraft Wing 5 at Quantico, Virginia. Naval Air Station Joint Base Lewis-Clark is one of three naval air stations across Washington authorized under Title 10 U.S.C § 331(a)(1), which authorizes detachments of military aircraft for scientific research purposes only within limits prescribed by statute or other law governing such activities; NABLC provides support for these detachments through its detachment provisions which authorize use of landfacilities not available at other naval air stations located within presidential boundaries or adjacent to political subdivisions thereof; field activity support personnel are also stationed here as part of a combined command structure providing direction and control over all medical facilities situated within centralia

Centralia is a town in central Washington, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. Centralia was founded in 1859 by white settlers, and became an incorporated municipality in 1907. The community was established around the Centralia Coal Mine and Railroad Company, which operated from 1859 to 1911. In 1912, the mine closed and all of its land became part of Centralia Township. The township's first mayor was George Wimbush. In 1916, Centralia voters passed a referendum to secede from Washington state due to the high cost of living and low quality of life there. The next year, the town received federal recognition as an incorporated municipality. Centralia has been home to many notable people over its history: John A Cash (1915-1996), director of King Tutankhamen's tomb; artist Clarrie Davis (1892-1971); educator Mildred Hargrave (1893-1985); physicist Arthur Compton (1874-1965); and singer/songwriter Neil Young (1947-present).

Centralia, Washington is a small town in eastern King County, Washington. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Centralia's history dates back to 1866 when it became part of the newly formed Grant County. Centralia was first settled by English and Scottish colonists who founded the town on land that had been donated by Chief Seattle. The name Centralia comes from an Indian word meaning "headquarters." The early residents of Centralia were farmers and traders who sold goods along the Snake River. In 1868, the area around central Centralia was organized as Grant County,USA. The county was named after General George Custer, who died in battle during the American Civil War. Grantsville, which is now part of Spokane Valley, was one of Custer's final strongholds before he retreated to India in 1876. Centralia experienced some economic difficulties during World War II. Many local businesses were destroyed or damaged in the war; however, many people remain proud of their community's wartime contributions. In 1945, City Hall and several other buildings were destroyed by a fire that started near a gasoline station on Main Street. The fire caused more than $1 million in damage and it took over two years to rebuild everything inside City Hall and around it-a task that still needs to be completed today! Centralia has since undergone several changesover its history-most notably during the 1960s when it underwent a dramatic transformation into an urban center with high school students moving into central business districts throughout downtown and much of southcentral blocks (now called Old Town). During this time period also came significant growth in retail within downtown areas as well as new development outside of central business district boundaries creating what is now known as New Town Center adjacent to Interstate 5A/Pasadena Boulevard).
