The first known matches between the two plants were recorded in 1792, when a Mr. James Cook imported coffee from Africa. He was probably using the beans from Mount Pembroke Coffee Estate in Edmonds, which he visited while on his journey to India. It is believed that Cook brought some of the beans with him and planted them at his home on Albion Street in Edmonds. In 1824, Swedish immigrant Erik Gustafsson started growing coffee beans near what is now Southeast Sixth Street and Columbia Avenue in Edmonds. In 1826, he opened a grocery store at 206-208 SE Sixth Avenue that became one of the trendiest businesses of its time due to its rich interior design and Maga coffee products. Eventually, other local businessmen followed suit and opened their own stores selling groceries as well as maga coffee products. During this time period there were also several major changes taking place within the NorthwestCoastalArea; including an influx of Europeans who began arriving during this time period Furthermore, there was a large increase in trade between North America and Europe resulting in new industry being formed such as chocolate manufacturing and brewing such as maga coffee. Eventually, over time different municipalities withinEdmondsgovt grew tired of paying taxes to King County for services such as police or fire protection etc., so they banded together and founded their own government dubbed "Maga City." This move signaled a shift towards self-reliance withinEdmondsgovt where prior efforts had been coordinated through centralized control by county officials The city council chose not to renew its contract with King County after only five years because it no longer felt like it was providing quality services that outweighed any cost implications associated with having multiple governments operating simultaneously

The Coffee House became a popular spot for locals and visitors to purchase iced coffee and pastries from the owner, Mrs. John Purdy. In 1829, Mrs. Purdy's grandson, John Purdy Jr., purchased the business and renamed it The Java House. Over time, other owners took over the business until it finally passed away in 1951. During its tenure as a maga coffeehouse, The Java House served up some of the most popular products such as java mochas and doughnuts with powdered sugar.

Edmonds is a small town in King County, Washington. The population was 2,852 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is bordered by Everett to the north, North Bend to the east, and SeaTac to the south. The name "Edmonds" was given by Captain George Vancouver in 1792 when he landed there with his party of British Columbia Rangers seeking passage to Alaska. He called it Canaadham because he thought that canoes would be more difficult to stop than ships onshore. The first permanent settler in Edmonds was John Lowry in 1836. Lowry built a log cabin on what is now Eastside Drive. In 1839–40, James Worthy arrived from Canada with his family and began trading goods with local Indians. Worthy named his settlement Dunbar after Sir David Dunbar, governor of New South Wales (Australia). In 1846–47, Edwin Booth purchased two pieces of land from Robert downgrade for $10 per acre ($472 today). He founded the town of Edmonds on these lands and expanded it rapidly over time. In 1907, Edmonds became an incorporated town under statehood laws passed by Washington Territory's General Assembly; it gained full statehood in 1959 under Constitution article V section 1 (the "Statute of Statehood"). The city annexations during World War II increased its population size from 1,800 to 3,500 residents within 10 years During prohibition era Edmonds had a speakeasy which served as America's first licensed alcohol store before prohibition was repealed in 1933
Edmonds was founded in 1848 by John and Martha Edmonds. The town was named for the large, Sitka-like island that is located to the east of Seattle. The Edmonds brothers, who were merchants and farmers, started a small general store in what is now downtown. In 1861, they built a gristmill on the riverbank. In 1865, they opened a post office and began selling goods from their stores to neighboring towns. By 1870, Edmonds had a population of about 150 people. A sawmill and millrace were built in 1875 and 1876, respectively; these facilities provided power for the town's streetlights and watermills. In 1897, the city of Seattle incorporated as part of a larger area which included Edmonds; this incorporation made it possible for residents of Edmonds to vote on municipal issues. In 1930, when King County was created from portions of Puget Sound region, Edmonds became one of its first areas; it remained an unincorporated community until 1955 when it became part of King County's first municipality boundaries.
