The Washington National Guard is a unit of the United States Armed Forces. It was first organized on 7 May 1861 as the 3rd Regiment of Infantry. The present-day Washington National Guard was created on 1 July 1947 as an umbrella organization for all reserve components of the military in the state of Washington. As part of American independence, the 3rd Regiment served in skirmishes and battles against British forces in what is now Prince George’s County, Maryland. After the Revolution, units were raised to serve in West Virginia and Kentucky during the Northwest Indian Wars. In 1846, elements from Company L (3rd) Militia were mustered into service at Fort Defiance under command of Colonel John Crayton as part of efforts to keep Native Americans out of Oregon Territory. In 1855, three companies from Spokane County militia battalion were mustered into service at Fort Vancouver to help protect settlers during gold Rush Fever season. On 25 October 1855, Company E (3rd) Militia was re-raised at Seattle and ordered to Colonel Lorenzo Colville’s brigade under command for duty along Snake River Valley Campaign against Umatilla Indians led by Chief Joseph Smith Sr.. The regiment participated in engagements nearpresent day Yakima and Walla Walla valleys between 10 November 1855 and 12 December 1855; over 20 engagements resulted in one dead or wounded soldier per day with no losses sustained by either side. A company from Fremont County militia battalion was mustered into service at Fort Snelling on 16 August 1861 when that county became a part of Territorial Washington following its admission into the Union on 6 February 1861. On 1 July 1947, all Reserve Component Troops within King County except for those stationed at Interlake AFB were merged together forming Headquarters/Washington State National Guard District #1 which included Enumclaw Municipal Airport located east side Of Elliott Bay). On 4 March 1903 President Theodore Roosevelt authorized establishment of Aide Service Corps Auxiliary Branch No 910 which later became known as First Battalion (Washington State National Guard) Judge Advocate General’s corps cavalry squadron serving throughout western US regions engaged mainly insurrectionary activities such as border raids where tribal leaders could be captured without surrendering their firearms or horses In 1907 Congress authorized conversion to an artillery regiment designated Battery 2nd Artillery Brigade California Volunteer Riflemen (CARVETS). Enumclaw is a small town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 4,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. The name comes from an Indian word meaning "narrow path." The first permanent settler in Enumclaw was John Jacob Astor, who arrived in 1847. Astor bought some land on the edge of town and founded what would become the first store in Enumclaw. In 1853, he built a gristmill that became one of the most important mills in King County. In 1892, grocer James Biddle built his first home in what is now downtown Enumclaw. He soon began to sell groceries and other items from his home until he sold his business to Aimee Jennings in 1913. By then, Enumclaw had a post office and several stores. In 1918, Drury & Company opened its doors for business as one of the first insurance companies west of the Cascade Range. The company has since closed but remains an important part of local history and culture today. Bryan & Co., which operated a grocery store on Third Avenue until it closed its doors in 1984, also played an important role in early Enumclaw's retail development with its wide variety of products available throughout the community; something that continues to this day at their former location on Fourth Avenue near Lake Union Mall. A key player during this time was Jens Jensen (1886-1964), who started out as a clerk at Bryan & Co.'s store before becoming manager and later owner thereof - ultimately leaving it open all week so customers could go into neighboring businesses for groceries while they waited for their car or train ride back home – something that still happens today at their old location on Fourth Avenue near Lake Union Mall!
The history of the National Guard is a long and complex one, with both positive and negative aspects to it. One of the earliest organizations dedicated to curbing illegal immigration was the Border Patrol Auxiliary (BPAC), which was founded in 1903. However, this organization only lasted for a few years before folding due to lack of funding. The first national guard unit was created in 1916 when President Wilson ordered the creation of a corps of troops to protect American interests abroad. This force was called the National Guard Bureau. The first national guard units were stationed in states that had ratified war declarations, such as Texas and Arkansas. However, by 1917 these soldiers had been redeployed to fight in World War I instead. When the war ended, many of these troops returned home without having completed their military service. Consequently, there were not enough national guard troops available to fully protect America during Prohibition time. In 1933, Congress passed the Militia Act which made it easier for people who wanted to join the military but did not have any college degrees or other qualifications to do so. This act allowed those who owned firearms and consumed more than 3 cups per day (24 ounces) of liquor within 180 days since February 14th 1933 (the date that Alcoholic Beverage Control Administration began operation) to become members of the militia without having their licenses revoked or being required to pay taxes on their income while they were enlisted in active duty in order to receive benefits from government programs like food stamps and free housing vouchers. As World War II approached, again there were no adequate numbers of national guard troops available because most had been deployed overseas fighting Nazi Germany and Italy instead. In 1941 President Roosevelt authorized 1 million soldiers for use within 10 months should America be invaded by Japan; however this authorization expired after only a few months due largely because Congressional opposition prevented any large-scale mobilization until 1944 when America went into World War II officially. After Pearl Harbor Japanese forces bombed Pearl Harbor resulting in over 2 thousand United States servicemen dead; following this attack Roosevelt ordered all U S nationals living abroad be sent back into America immediately regardless if they had served or not during World War I or WWII; however this order also expired after just a few weeks due largely To congressional opposition again preventing another large-scale mobilization until 1946 when America entered WWII officially again under Harry Truman as its new president
The National Guard has been present in the United States since 1795. The first National Guard units were organized in New York and Pennsylvania. The first Guardsmen served in a militia capacity until the American Revolution. After the revolution, the Guardsmen were used as a volunteer force for local police and military duties. In 1861, President Lincoln called for an increased National Guard to guard the southern border of the United States following Confederate victories at Fort Sumter. The number of guardsman born in 1861 was nearly 1,500,000 out of a total population of over 20 million. By 1865, there were more than 6 million Guardsmen entering into duty every year.
Enumclaw was founded in 1881 by John Fenton and his father, Isaac. The town was located on the eastern shore of Puget Sound, about a mile from present-day Seattle. In 1902, Enumclaw became part of the city of Seattle and is now a part of the Microsoft campus. The first store in Enumclaw was built on Second Avenue between Pine and Maple Streets. On December 12, 1907, the first oil well in Puget Sound was drilled at Enumclaw by J.P. Morgan & Co., Ltd., with assistance from local entrepreneurs such as George Wickersham and David Sennett. Because this well caused so much excitement in the community, a large millinery shop and grocery were soon built next door to the drill site to serve locals and visitors alike. In 1909, when Microsoft Corporation was founded, it purchased land east of Third Avenue that would become its Redmond Campus. At that time, Enumclaw's main thoroughfare was Second Avenue which served as company headquarters until 1957 when they moved to their current location across First Avenue from CenturyLink Field (now CenturyLink Center). In 1916-1917, during World War I there were several raids onEnumnaclaw businesses by American troops looking for munitions caches being stored by German forces nearby; no damage or arrests were reported however two innocent people were injured during the raid: one man who received aortal gunshot wound to his leg while standing close to his store; and another man who suffered brain damage after being hit with a grenade fired from an American machine gun nest near his home.) After WWI ended there wasn't any need for such raids anymore because Germany had already surrendered all their weapons stockpiled within Tacoma County including Enumnaclaw’s munitions cache! After WWII turned into an economic recession many businesses closed down but some like The KFC continued through different incarnations until they went out of business around 1980s when they converted into housing units according to then zoning laws which limited development near schools etc.). Although most residents have moved away or left town over time it still retains some small population remaining today primarily concentrated around downtown area where there are several churches (First Methodist Church Brewery Street United Methodist Church Bellevue United Methodist Church), post office (opened in 1903) - currently occupied by Amazon Web Services - banking buildings (JPMorgan Chase Building), library/ archives building completed in 1978 - now used as student union building also known as Renton Community College District 2 Dean's Office) Seventh Generation recycling center opened up just west off School Road North inside UTC Owen Park property just before school boundary line becoming private property again .A few homes remain however most recently demolished along newly resurfaced School Road North portion thereof
