That same year saw the opening of the first major shopping center in King County – Pacific Mall – which anchored what is now known as Eisenhower Avenue near downtown Tacoma. In 1951-1952, work began on building what would eventually become CenturyLink Field; this project led to increased business for the townspeople as well as new jobs for local contractors involved in the development process. It wasn't until 1978 that an annex to nearby SeaTac Airport came into being; this annex allowed for more commercial development within walking distance of both towns' centers - making Enumclaw even more popular with developers looking to locate their businesses close to consumers or workers alike. Today much like when it first started out enums Claw has seen continued growth with high demand from residents seeking stores such as Walmart ect... but also growing competition coming from newer shopping centers such as Microsoft office park ect... giving enums claw some breathing room yet still maintaining a strong sense of community
