However, after 1850 when the first Starbucks opened up shop in Seattle, coffee became very popular and began to be grown throughout Washington state. In that year, beans from a small farm near Enumclaw were brought over by Josiah Gregg and sold to a group of men who started trading with other markets in Europe. Eventually, Gregg's business grew so much that he moved his operation to what is now downtown Seattle and began roasting beans commercially for the first time. Coffee continued to be produced regionally until 1847 when an act of Congress passed a law allowing public sales of single- roasted beans without accompanying water or sugar. This allowed businesses such as Howard Johnson Restaurants and Maxwell House cafes throughout North America to start selling coffee direct from bean farms

Enumclaw is a town in Washington state, United States. The population was 1,846 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee–Chelan County Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Enumclaw Dam is located in town. The first permanent settler in Enumclaw was George Henty and his family who arrived in 1847 from England. They raised chickens and cattle on their farmstead until 1851 when they bought land east of the current town line and built what would become the first frame house in Wenatchee County. In 1859, John Wesley Smith moved from Tacoma to purchase 160 acres (72 hectares) northeast of present-day Enumclaw for $120. He named it Prairie du Chien after his home state in Wisconsin. In 1870, John Dyer erected a cabin on what is now Main Street which he called "Dyer's Cabin." This was followed by another cabin, "Belcher's Cabin" in 1871. By 1875, all three cabins were occupied and several others had been erected since Pioneer Day around that time including "Pioneer Hotel," now known as the Adirondack Inn & Suites (Adirondacks), north of Main Street on Third Avenue. By 1880 there were 10 dwellings with an aggregate population of 164 people living within 2 miles (3 kilometers) of each other; this vicinity became known as "Ecumclaw Township." A post office called Enumclaw was established in 1889 and remained open until 1959 when it merged into Wenatchee Post Office #2 along with neighboring towns Bethel, Grays Harbor, Lewiston, Winthrop and Yelm to form the present-day Wenatchee–Chelan County metropolitan area Postal Service service. In 1902 Wm Fenton opened a grocery store at Seventh Place where later he operated two gas stations before moving to First Avenue south near Park Road which became his depot for Deliveries & Empties provided by local farmers throughout much of central Washington State until 1958 when Wm Fenton went out of business merging with Wenatchee Post Office #2 creating today's single largest employer - The Mail Carrier Company LLC - operating more than 350 businesses statewide including over 50 stores across 12 states servicing customers through 3 million packages per day! Today’s Enumclaw also has its own police department providing law enforcement services within our Town limits while our Mayor leads our community effort to keep crime rates low while improving qualityof life for all residents!

Enumclaw is a census-designated place located in King County, Washington. The population was 5,693 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The first European explorers to visit Enumclaw were Alexander Selkirk and his party in 1809. They named the land Enumclaw after one of their guides, Enamus Clark. In 1812, George Vancouver explored Puget Sound and found a stream called Nomac River flowing through what is now known as Enumclaw. In 1830, John Jacob Astor founded the Eastern Steam Navigation Company out of Tacoma and named his new port for himself—Enumclaw—in order to promote steamboat travel up Puget Sound. In 1861, when Washington became a state, it added Enumclaw to its territory. The community began growth soon after as farmers developed crops and livestock near the water's edge on property that still remains today. By 1870 the population had reached 1,000 people and by 1910 it had reached 5,693 people living in 710 households within an 8-square-mile radius of the town center. During World War II many residents worked at Boeing plants in nearby cities such as Moses Lake or Everett before returning home for Victory Gardens during peacetime when there was no war effort going on; however local production stopped abruptly following Pearl Harbor because military production was relocated to other parts of America due to wartime restrictions on exports like food products Today much of what once made up Boeing’s campus exists as open space adjacent to Interstate 5: across from Alaska Airlines Center on Mercer Street between First Avenue South and Second Avenue South is land leased by Microsoft (now owned by Amazon) which hosts employee housing while work takes place; another prime piece of business real estate adjoining Interstate 5 just south of Pioneer Squareopez which has been home to Safeway since 1978 (and will continue so until 2027), next door vacant site formerly occupied by eight small businesses including two banks--the building currently houses an Amazon subsidiary called Faxon & Partners that provides technical support for web developers en route from Seattle/ Bellevue northward
The Enumclaw Indian Reservation was organized in 1875 and is located in the Puget Sound region of Washington. The reservation covers an area of about 161,000 acres. In 1915, the tribe had a population of 2,500 people.
