At this time, coffee was used as currency and was traded between different regions. It wasn’t until the 1800s that Starbucks opened their first location in Seattle, Washington. This led to the development of modern day coffee culture across North America. In 1847, John Stroud bought two acres of land at 12th Street and Second Avenue in Seattle with plans to start a restaurant called “Stroud” Coffee House. However, due to high demand for his beans, he didn’t open his restaurant until 1851-2. In 1862, Stroud reopened his store as Starbucks after being forced out by liquor control officials following prohibition efforts in Oregon starting that year. Soon after, other stores followed suit throughout North America! By 1893, Starbucks had over 1,500 locations! Today they continue to grow with over 350 locations worldwide!

Everett is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,872 at the 2010 census. Everett is part of the Seattle metropolitan area and is located on the eastern edge of Issaquah National Forest. Everett's economy depends largely upon agriculture and lumber. There are also several small businesses in the town. Everett was founded by Danish immigrants in 1847 as a farmstead on the site of present-day Everett. The first post office was established in 1848, and Everett became a incorporated village in 1868. The first store opened in 1870 and incorporation made it an independent city within five years. In 1903, when King County formed Thurston County, Everett became its seat. In 1907, Everett moved from its original center to its current location on Highway 99W about two miles south of downtown Seattle to make way for new development along that route; this permitted more efficient transportation between those two cities. However, although much of present-day Everett was developed during these years (including parts of what is now called "Little Elms", which once constituted most of the town), there were no large roads or shopping centers developments until after World War II when interstate highways reached their current levels: major shopping areas began to form around Interstate 5 outside Seattle while other rural communities near Everett experienced similar growth rates throughout that time period; this has led to some growth concerns among locals over increased traffic congestion on local streets near I-5/99W intersections). The first permanent settler arrived in 1889: John Eads who homesteaded east of the Sound River on land grant from US President James Kahlotis Sr.. A post office operated at Eagle Lake from 1898–1900 due to difficulties with getting mail across the sound barrier into Puget Sound proper (the ferry service then transported mail across Elliott Bay). From 1901–1902 Captain Harry Fenton built a log cabin on northeast corner lot (now east side of Main Street) which served as headquarters for both towns until 1924 when it burned down; he had named it "Fenton Hall" after himself and his brother Harry Fenton Jr.. By 1910 there were 12 houses (3 families) with 2 irrigable acres per family listed as property values here; assessed value $2,500-$5,000 only! In 1916 Wm Henson platted what would become today's southeast corner lot accessible via NE alley off Superior Street for small farmers & family farmsteads beginning production Jan 1913 thru Oct 1917 thru 1926 Here today—over 25yrs later still going strong (& growing)—still valued at just under $1400/acre
