The shotgun was soon being used as an addition to home arsenals as well, becoming known as the "Pleasure Shotgun." In 1911, Harry Pleasure donated his shotguns to the city of Federal Way. In 1933, after years of discussion and planning, the City of Federal Way placed a ban on handguns. This controversial decision marked the beginning of gun control issues in Washington State. In 1969, after more than 50 years of service to the city of Federal Way and its citizens, Harry Pleasure's shotguns were retired from active use at the municipal arsenal.
