Fresh roasted coffee is a long and proud history in the city of Longview, Washington. The first blackstrap beans were grown on the property of J.C. Hagerty in 1916. Today, fresh-roasted coffee is hand-selected and roasted daily in our small shop on 7th Avenue Northeast. Longview is a small town in Washington State, just east of the Olympic Peninsula. The population was 1,432 at the 2010 census. It lies on U.S. Route 101 and is part of the Chelan County municipality. The first European to visit Longview was George Vancouver in 1792. The town's name comes from nearby Lake Coeur d'Alene which was named for General James Kippenberger who fought in the Mexican War and then served as governor of Oregon Territory from 1846-48. In 1852, a post office was established at Longview and it remained an important stop on the Pacific Northwest Frontier until 1959 when it became part of Seattle. In 1907, local businessman John Crain built what are now known as Crain's Hill and Pioneer Place homes on land he had purchased from Russian fur traders Pushkin and Bogdanovich during their final journey through North America after completing their tsarstvennaya (central Asia) expedition across Siberia in search of new fur markets. Jock Mahlon developed this site into one of Longview's most successful businesses by developing four miles (6 km) of gravel beach fronting Puget Sound between 1923-1927; this development created jobs for local residents along with more than 100 retail stores, five banks, two movie theaters, three hotels and two golf courses that today make up downtown Longview's nucleus. After World War II, fruit orchards were developed around the intersection of First Way South and US 101 where produce can be bought fresh or packed frozen for shipment to other parts of the United States or Canada; during that time many Longview families also worked occasional seasonal farm jobs near Highway 99 south of town while others resided permanently in downtown Longview thanks to its ample housing stock and easy access to public transportation facilities like buses, trains and carshops located within walking distance from all major shopping areas including downtown shops such as Sears & Roebuck & Co., JCPenney &Co., Safeway Stores Inc., Amazon

The first coffee beans were grown in Ethiopia around 3000 BC. The Ethiopian people used volcanic ash as their primary source of fertilizer, which gave rise to the use of wild cherry and other specialty trees for coffee production. In 1638, Dutch traders reached Ethiopia and traded coffee with the country's king. Coffee was smuggled into Europe from Ethiopia by way of Turkey in the 15th century. In 1795, French monks travelling through Arabia discovered fresh-roasted coffee while on an missionary journey. They brought back some 40 kg (100 lb) of bean to Paris where it was ground up and brewed into French press coffees that tasted different than any other beans they had encountered. This discovery led to the birth of café culture in France and throughout Europe. Coffee commands a high price today because it is so rare and valuable; one kilogram (2 lbs) of pure roast costs over £4000 ($8000). As early as 1825, Rome began exporting fresh-roasted coffee from Africa to Italy under the name d'Ambertus Coffee Company. The first espresso machine was developed in Milan between 1855-1857 by Italian inventor Luigi Bezzerini using water heated by coal gaslights (an early form of electricity). By 1830, more than 5500 small cafes across Italy were serving quality espresso drinks powered by steam engines or horse-drawn carts pulled by slaves within spitting distance of each other! In 1861, Don Giovanni Marchesi founded La Toscana Coffee & Cocoa Co., one of the first large roasting companies in Italy. At this point Italian cuisine relied overwhelmingly on imported European goods such as chocolate and olive oil while Italians themselves produced very little food beyond pasta and bread products—a situation that changed dramatically with Mussolini's rise to power in 1922 when he nationalized all manufacturing enterprises across Italy except for those producing agricultural produce such as olives! After World War II ended hostilities between East German Germany and West Germany led to increased trade between these two countries; this new trade created new opportunities for both roasters and consumers alike for finding unique coffees from all over the world! Today there are numerous international roasting companies operating throughout most major global markets; however, few can approach Starbucks’s long history or scale!

Longview is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,609 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. The first settler in what would become Longview was James McLaughlin in 1853. He and his wife Mary came from eastern Scotland and were the first European settlers to live in what would become Longview. The townsite was surveyed by George Vancouver on December 11, 1855. In 1858, the town plat was filed with the county recorder's office and named after Captain John Lewis Long of HMS Discovery who had explored parts of British Columbia in 1792-93 during his explorations of that region for fur traders then led by Alexander Mackenzie. Captain Lewis' grandson also founded the city of Olympia on Puget Sound (now Bellevue) Island in 1861 which later became Tacoma. In 1870, an act entitled "An Act to Encourage Manufactures" passed by Congress authorized impounding all public lands east of Interstate 5 for wheat farming as a means to promote northerners settling down near large urban areas within 10 years; this caused much agitation among local farmers who saw their land value plunge as transportation costs skyrocketed due to new routes built Highway 101 and I-5 connect Seattle with Portland, Oregoncarbonated gasoline commercials began airing on KOMO radio affiliate WPXH beginning May 15th 1951 . This created problems for farmers as they could not sell their products at a lower price to compete against other retailers while also losing market share due to highway development; this issue would continue through most of the 1970s when interchanges were constructed at I-5 and Highway 99W only increasing traffic along those routes In 1886, a school district was organized out of portions of Snohomish County including present day King County by direct vote by voters in cities located within it such as Everett and Bothell; these districts eventually expanded into Pierce County following enactment of state law reducing voting power for rural citizens there . The first European to visit Longview was Captain George Vancouver in 1792. He named the town after his friend and landlord, James Long. The first permanent settler in what is now Longview was John Day in 1800.
