The history of the navy in Monroe dates back to 1827. The first naval ship stationed in the area was the USS Constitution, which arrived from Philadelphia on October 25, 1827. The USS Constitution served as a tender for the local merchant vessels and helped keep navigation safe during times of war. In 1861, when Washington became a slave state, the navy began patrols off of its coast. In 1865, when the Confederate States of America was formed, Admiral James Farragut ordered his fleet to blockade Richmond using warships and submarines. This successful campaign led to Virginia's surrender. Monroe saw more active military service during World War II than any other city in Washington state. On December 7, 1941, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor; within two days over 2,500 sailors and marines had been killed or wounded by Japanese gunfire and torpedoes alone. The navy responded with an overwhelming force that destroyed most of Japan's fleet at Midway Island before withdrawing back to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for repairs. After World War II ended, the navy dissolved and all ships were decommissioned; however, some remain moored at various naval bases around Washington today (e.g., Naval Air Station Whidbey Island). As many as 26 vessels may be moored at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard at any given time due to renovation or modernization projects underway there!

Monroe, Washington is a small town in King County, Washington. The population was 707 at the 2010 census. It is located on the south bank of the Snoqualmie River and includes part of the former town of Monroe. The first permanent settler in what became Monroe was James Irvine in 1810. By 1820, most of what is today Monroe had been surveyed and platted. The town was named for General George MONROE who served as Governor of Oregon from 1828 to 1830 and helped create the United States territorial government there. In 1865, when Congress passed the Kansas–Nebraska Act which allowed slavery to be licensed in Nebraska Territory, Monroe voted against it and pro-slavery people burned down their homes there. In 1886, Congress repealed the Kansas–Nebraska Act and re-established slavery within Nebraska Territory as well; this caused much anger in Monroe because free people here were forced to sell their land to slaveholders. In 1903, local school superintendent Hugh Steele donated his land east of town for a high school; construction began in 1904 but never finished due to financial problems. The new high school opened on October 26, 1907 with grades 9-12; it was announced by then-Mayor Hinson Everett that plans were underway to rename it after Monroe native General John JASPERLY (1792-1863) – however this never happened because he died before any formal proposal could be made. The current community center was built on part of Steele's donation in 1958; it replaced an earlier building that also functioned as a church and post office until 1967 when it caught fire due to an electrical issue. A $5 million renovation project completed in 2009 added a library/entertainment hall/conference room/parking garage as well as upgrades to water systems, heating and cooling systems, streetlights and lighting throughout the community center complex including all eight buildings oniggs north side only (the original two buildings still stand). The total cost was $15 million dollars which included county funding along with private donations from individuals and businesses across King County during Phase I & II development stages only so that all aspects of plaza design will match or exceed Federal standards set tight by US Departmentof Interior National Park Service directive No Code 11132 regarding visitor amenities inside park complexes having special significance such as cultural or historical sites

It is now on display at Brown University’s Henry Fonda Library Annex Gallery located near Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, California along with other memorabilia from Johnson’s time as Commander Western Pacific Fleet
