Moses Lake is a small, isolated community in central Washington, United States. It was named after Moses Lake, Michigan, the site of a famous battle during the American Civil War. The population of Moses Lake was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The community's only store and post office are located on Main Street. There are no schools in Moses Lake and most residents rely on public assistance to get by. However, there is an effort underway to create a self-sufficient village that would provide all of its own services. Moses Lake began as a cattle ranch run by John Fetterman and his son William Fetterman. In 1907 John Fetterman sold his ranch to George Henschel for $10,000. Henschel turned it into a fishing and hunting resort with two lakes - one for swimming and boating, the other for fishing and hunting purposes. In 1925 George Henschel died leaving his business to his son-in-law Julius Weisman who continued to operate it under the name of "Henschel's Lodge". Weisman soon renamed it "Moses Lake" after President McKinley's hometown in Michigan – also known as "Moses lake". The first store opened in 1928 and was operated by Elias Howe; he also built the first house in town. When Howe died in 1933 his wife Edwina ran the store until her death four years later; then she bequeathed it to her niece June Howland who ran it until her death in 1984; then it passed through several families before being bought by Donny Burger who operates it today. An early resident of Moses Lake was Mrs Ada Sayers who arrived from Canada with her family around 1915 when they were granted land east of White Rock Road (later called State Route 99) which became accessible via boat landing just north of present day Elmendorf Drive/State Route 97 W (now Utopia Way). She started raising chickens on this property which became known as "Sayers' Run" because Mrs Sayers took care of all aspects such as fencing/feeding/ watering etc.; including mowing lawns for many home owners living nearby at that time! In 1948 Mrs Sayer donated 4 acres northeast of town along State Route 97W above Utopia Way (then Maple Avenue) so development could continue unimpeded adjacent to what is now Mormon Temple Square! On July 14th 1951 local citizens applied for incorporation but were denied due to lack of signatures from 2% or more registered voters!! A referendum conducted August 3rd 1959 resulted in incorporation being approved with 1 vote against & 16 ballots cast!!! Naming rights were awarded on December 20th 1960 following successful negotiation between locals & Olympia Chamber Of Commerce

Moses Lake is a small town in Washington State, located on the Snake River. It was founded by the Lewis and Clark Expedition in 1805 as part of their exploration of the Northwest Territories. The current community was founded in 1902 by George C. Moses, who donated land for it on which to build a new town. Moses Lake is named after Moses Shmona, an early settler and founder of nearby Pullman, Washington. The town has a population of about 1,500 residents today. Moses Lake is located at 41°25'N 121°03'W (41.411 North, 121.813 East). It has an area of 21 square miles (56 km2). In 2002, it had a population of 1,491 people; according to the US Census Bureau's American Community Survey for 2006-2010*, that number had increased to 2,045 people in 2012-2016* due to growth in the surrounding area around Moses Lake National Wildlife Refuge*. Moses Lake experiences summer heat waves typical for most parts of the United States; however its water temperature can reach 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) during some months with little or no warning* (*Census data from 2000-2006). Summertime thunderstorms are also common but usually brief affairs with very few reported injuries or fatalities.*
