Oak Harbor is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Olympia–Tacoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Oak Harbor was Hiram Aiken, who came to what is now Oak Harbor in 1872. In 1913, John Sorenson named the town after his father-in-law and neighbor Ole Kirkland (1866-1937). The community developed around a post office and general store that operated from 1892 to 1914. After being closed due to World War I and prohibition, the store reopened in 1919 as an auto dealership with sales operations extending into Bandon and SeaTac. In 1979, the store was acquired by Pacific Northwest Paper Company which continued operations until 1990 when it merged with Canwest Broadcasting Corporation. In 1990, Pacific Northwest Paper Company merged with Seattle-based News Corp., which owned KOMO radio then WNDX TV stations (now Fox affiliate KTTH), giving Oak Harbor its only television station before it lost its independent status in 2002 following the purchase of all of NWPC's assets by The Walt Disney Company subsidiary Hearst Corporation. Since 2002, Oak Harbor has been home to two major employers: Alaskan Malamute Resources Incorporated - a mining company - and Microsoft Corporation's Redmond campus for research and development activities. With recent expansions announced for both businesses - including a new $100 million business park -Oak Harbor could become one of Washington's most popular small towns by 2020 if its fortunes continue on their current trend; however much higher taxes may still be necessary to support such growth rates given local coffers are limited for other projects outside of policing/fire suppression/transportation infrastructure investments alone

The Union army quickly emerged victorious and began putting into action its newly acquired arsenal of weapons: rifles, cannons and pistols among others. As time went on there were more innovations being made within army arsenals - such as gas shells - which allowed for even greater devastation when fought in battle. Today’s military gifts reflect this continuing history with a focus on functionality rather than style or extravagance.

Oak Harbor is a town in Pierce County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,194 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Oak Harbor were traders and missionaries travelling through Puget Sound in 1792. They named their new location "Port Townsend" because of the large port they saw there. The town site was surveyed by Captain George Vancouver in 1808 and platting began that year. In 1810, the first school was built and when it burned down in 1847, the city hall was built instead. In 1861, during the American Civil War, General Ulysses S Grant's army marched into Tacoma and destroyed much of downtown including most of the courthouse which stood on what is now First National Bank lawn. A plaque marking this event can be found at stately First National Bank on Union Street today. The industry that has driven Oak Harbor's growth over time has included agriculture (the primarystay until recently), fishing, manufacturing (especially for ammunition), forestry (which includes logging), mining and lumbering as well as some tourism activities like snowmobiling and sleigh rides around Christmas time. In recent years Oak Harbor has become home to Boeing’s aircraft manufacturing facilities - with two newer plants opening since 2000 - making it an important center for aerospace engineering research & development persists today
