The United States Army has been deployed in Pasco and the surrounding area for over two centuries. The first US military installation in the area was Fort Pierce on the tip of Miami, now part of the University of South Florida. In 1898, General John J. Pershing ordered American forces to occupy Cuba after Spain withdrew from that country. As a result, there were numerous small camps set up around the city of Pasco as American soldiers prepared for their new assignment. In 1902, US forces were again called into action when an earthquake struck Mexico City; many Americans living near the capital were killed or injured. This time, however, the army was quickly able to set up a base at Camp Gonzales on what is now State Road 12 near present-day East Side Boulevard. From here, it became possible for American troops to conduct operations throughout most of southern Mexico. In 1906, following World War I, both America and Russia had entered into an agreement which allowed Russian troops to be stationed in California; this led to increased military activity along Mexican borders. The year before, Congress had passed a law authorizing appropriations for 1 million dollars per year to be used “for general purposes” within Mexico City (now known asMexico City). This began preparations for Mexican President Porfirio Diaz’s planned invasion of Texas which never eventuated because Diaz was overthrown by revolutionaries several months later. In 1916–1917 during World War I US troops were sent eastward through Wyoming and Colorado Territory in order to assist with internal security duties in those areas; they arrived too late to take part in any fighting but did provide support services such as artillery bombardment and supply shipments back home once hostilities ceased. Pasco, Washington is a small town located in Kitsap County, Washington. The population was 3,872 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area. Pasco is bordered by Mount Baker to the east and south, Puget Sound to the west, and Lake Union to the north. Pasco was founded in 1853 by James Wickersham as a trading post on what is now known as State Route 530. In 1881, it became an incorporated town when all of Kitsap County was annexed into Washington Territory. The incorporation process took place at a time when most towns in America were founded through charter or donation from individuals or families. The first store in Pasco opened its doors on December 16, 1881. At that time, it was little more than a scattered group of log cabins with dirt floors and rudimentary architecture. By 1890, there were three stores and six businesses operating in Pasco proper; two grocery stores and four lumberyards. During World War II (1939-45), Pasco played an important role as both an airfield and manufacturing center for aluminum products produced by Boeing Airplane Company during its development effort towards becoming a world leader in aviation production.. After the war ended, many companies left town: Alcan Aluminum Corporation closed down its plant in 1946; Western Electric shuttered its works here after selling off its assets to General Motors; Pacific Telesis Corporation vacated their facility nearby but kept their main building until they sold it years later to King County; American Canning & Manufacturing Co., Inc., which had been based here since 1911 moved back out of state for good after suffering financial problems within Alaska; finally Sears Roebuck & Co., which had been headquartered here since 1902 relocated their operations out of town altogether following efforts by then- mayor Harry Janssen to get them into federal government service instead of turning over management of their store locations to local competitors

Pasco is a city in the state of Washington, United States. The population was 14,995 at the 2010 census. Pasco is the county seat of King County and one of the largest cities in Western Washington. It is home to a number of historical sites, including the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Boeing Factory. The first Europeans to visit what is now Pasco were traders from Asia who passed through during their journey down the Columbia River in search of new trade routes. In 1792, Spanish missionaries established a mission here after traveling up the river from California. In 1854, when Washington became a U.S. state, Pasco became its capital city under then-Governor Isaac Stevens (1815-1867). The first post office in Pasco was established in 1855 and it continued serving until 1907. At that time it was moved to Olympia because that town had been chartered as an independent town on December 12th, 1853 by Territorial Governor Robert Condon (1796-1864).
Pasco, Washington was first settled in the late 1800s. The area now known as Pasco was inhabited by the local Tlingit people. In 1851, the United States government Purchased 1,000 acres of land from the Tlingit and established the town of Pasco. This area later became part of Seattle. The town’s growth led to a boom in mining activity and a rise in population, which eventually caused problems with arsenic contamination in water supplies. In 1923, American Electric Power Company organized a power plant on Northcenter Hill and built a dam to store water for the plant. As demand for electricity grew, so did concerns over water availability and environmental degradation from the plant. In 1965, Pierce County was created from parts of King County and Pasco became one of its counties.
