Pasco, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 14,693 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of King County and home to the Pasco Regional Library system. The first permanent settler in what would become Pasco was James Creighton in 1853. He founded what would become Spokane and Pasco Township together. In 1855, Doniphan & Company organized a post office in the community of Pasco with five initial recipients: Creighton, Hargrave (John), Armstrong (George C.), Goodrich (Arthur), and Muhlenberg (Johannes). In 1865, Jens Hansen established a farmstead three miles northeast of Pasco on land he had purchased from John Stephenson for $2 per acre. Postmaster George Armstrong wrote that Hansen "treated this place as his own." In 1870-72 Danish immigrant Søren Rasmussen located two small homesteads east of present day Pasco on sandbars between Puget Sound and Lake Washington; these were later known as Hansen Heights. Rasmussen may have been inspired by an article about Denmark's granting citizenship to American citizens published in an English-language newspaper in Copenhagen just before his arrival there in 1870. Rasmussen named his new community after Danish general Nelson Mandela who had been imprisoned for political opinions which did not align with those of the Danish government at that time. In July 1892 Soren Rasmussen died suddenly while out grazing cattle near his property; his death was misreported as a heart attack due to confusion over whether or not he actually possessed a watch given to him by one of his guestslesthat night preceded their departure on their honeymoon on board ship MV "Danish America". Hansen's widow remarried soon afterwards and her name became Beate Christensen after her husband's death she inherited some land south of present day Hansen Heights from her first husband also named Beate Christensen which continues today as part of Hansen Park.. In 1907–10 Joseph Ahern started plowing fields along what is now Pacific Avenue SE near where Snohomish Creek empties into Lake Washington adjacent to present day Pioneer Square Shopping Center; this original land grant has since been renamed Hayden Hill Road following Ahern's donation it back to the town limits Sometime during World War II() Japanese Americans living within range of Seattle Naval Shipyard were rounded up and transported north across I-5 onto buses headed towards Angel Island without any warning or notice being given to them other than “You are going northwest” sign displayed all around campus… most/all were marched through downtown Tacoma then taken outside sans clothes so no one could see them being driven away under false pretenses [This happened] December 7th 1945 when 16 men including future Mayor Ed Murray were disembarking from USS Stonington (DDG-21) at Tacoma Harbor [Northwest side], many people knew something was wrong but nobody wanted to speak out because they didn’t want Japan coming over here looking for us instead!

Pasco is a town in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. Pasco was first settled by Europeans in 1847 and named after Pasquale Colombo, an Italian merchant and explorer who had discovered Puget Sound in 1792. In 1853, John Wesley Adams moved to Pasco from Olympia and founded theAdams Brewery which still operates today. The community grew rapidly during the late 19th century because of its proximity to Tacoma and its position on the railroad line between Tacoma and Seattle. In 1907, Pasco formed a city charter with a population of 3,000 people. The incorporation process was difficult due to lack of support from local farmers who saw the city as an opportunity to get rich quick through development of their landholdings around the new township center. However, by 1912 most residents were living in indoor buildings built for them by timber merchants or developers along First Avenue South since there was no open space within the limits of what became known as "Pasco". The first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Pasco City was Mayor Cesar Chavez who served from 1912 until his death in 1951; he is also considered one of its Founding Fathers. In 1917-1918 Igor Kurchatov led an expedition that explored Puget Sound region including what is now Pasco before becoming famous for his discovery of Mount Stromboli - marking not only Russian exploration but also American exploration into this important region beginning with Discovery Channel's "Voyagers" program two years later that same year which helped make Puget Soundknown internationally as an area ripe for exploitation leading to more Japanese settlement followed by other powers such as America culminating with World War II when Japan captured Alaska making it available as a naval base allowing America to expand its territory southward while at the same time weakening Japan economically so they could still resist US military threats emanating out of Hawaii following Pearl Harbor attack on December 7 1941 resulting in Japan's surrender days later

The first permanent white settlement in the area was made on the east side of Puget Sound in 1851 by Captain James Cook and his men, who were exploring for new land to explore. In 1861, Pasco became part of the United States when it was ceded from British Columbia. The town was named after U.S. Senator Pasco (1835-1913) during its early years as a small farming community on the eastern edge of town. In 1892, an armory and ammunition store were built in downtown Pasco and served as the center of local commerce until 1955 when a post office opened at the same location. On January 1, 1959, Pasco became a city with a population of over 50,000 people. As Puget Sound gradually transitioned from an agricultural area to becoming an urban center with high-technology industries and services, Pasco continued to grow rapidly into the 21st century.
