There is a lot of coffee history in Puyallup, Washington. The first coffeehouse in the town was opened by two brothers in 1868. The men who founded the business were John and Walter Fenton. They started out selling coffee from their home on First Street. In 1870, they moved to what is now Sixth Avenue and began trading as the Fenton Coffee House. Over time, they became known for their good quality beans and delicious drinks. The business continued to grow until it closed in 1907.
Puyallup is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,020 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Puyallup comes from Kootenai Indian word "puya-lay" meaning "place where salmon spawn." The first settler in what became Puyallup was James Irvine who arrived in 1847. In 1870, John C. Wright and his family bought property which included the current site of Puyallup. They named their new community after Captain George Vancouver's landing on Puget Sound on July 12, 1792 during his expedition to find a Northwest Passage to Asia. In 1896, Puyallup became an incorporated town when it joined King County. It has had its own school system since 1907 and has been governed by a mayor and city council since 1959. One of the most famous people from Puyallup is Roy Rogers who spent many years performing at the local fairgrounds and later developed his own ranch there before moving to Malibu in California in 1965

Puyallup is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 21,554 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The name Puyallup comes from the Malahat word "pu-yal" meaning "to water for cattle." The land where Puyallup now sits was first settled by Native Americans including the Puyallups and other tribes who called it Placerville. The first European to see the current site of Puyallup was Captain George Vancouver on his mapping expedition in 1792. He named it Point Defiance after an English trading post nearby that he had visited while exploring Puget Sound. In 1851, J.H. Hillyer donated 640 acres (247 hectares) of land to King County as part of what became known as Hillyer Rancho San Juan Capistrano which included present day Puyallup and parts of Olympia and Auburn Hills. This gift made possible the establishment of Puyallup as a town in 1854 and allowed for its incorporation as a county seat in 1860. During World War II, many industry plants were located in or near Puyallup including Boeing’s Everett plant which manufactured fighters and bombers; Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works facility which designed jet aircraft; Westinghouse Electric Company’s plutonium production plant;and AIB Corporation’s semiconductor fabrication plant all located on or around Elliott Bay Naval Shipyard north of downtown Tacoma until it closed in 1996 when those facilities were moved to Mariposa Mesa Naval Air Station southeast of Tacoma). After World War II, most manufacturing left Puget Sound except for some small businesses established within downtown boundaries such as Microsoft and Starbucks that began operations there during the early 1990s before leaving again during 2000–2005 waves of contraction followed by new construction with restaurants taking over vacated factories until 2006 when most activity returned to downtown with a few exceptions such as Amazon's HQ2 building now within walking distance but not visible from Interstate 5 since it occupies unincorporated land east of Pioneer Square Shopping Center Carriage roads lead from downtown southward past Occidental Park towards SeaTac Airport only 2 blocks away
