The Navy has a long and proud history in the Puyallup area. The navy first arrived in Puget Sound in 1853, when Commodore John L. Perry sailed his ship Constitution onto the shore of Olympia to demand that Mexico cede Oregon to America. The navy presence in the area continued through World War II, when Tacoma was the primary naval port for Pacific operations. From there, sailors and marines transported troops and supplies all over Asia and Europe during World War II. In 1947, the navy transferred its Naval Air Station ( NAS) at Grays Harbor to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS). NAS Grays Harbor became home to USS McCain (CA-46), one of the last American warships commissioned into service with the navy after World War II. This decision marked an important milestone for NAS Grays Harbor; it would become one of only two naval air stations within Seattle metropolitan area. Puyallup is a community in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,865 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. The name Puyallup comes from the local Native American word "pow-yal," meaning "a pool of water." The first settler in what is now Puyallup was John Young who arrived in 1853. He named his farm and post office after General George Armstrong Custer during the Dakota Crisis. The city's first store opened in 1892 on Second Avenue N.W., across from modern day Safeco Field baseball park. In 1907, it was renamed for then-Governor Homer Plessy because he had built a school there and donated land to the town for that purpose. In 1916, Puyallup became one of five towns incorporated within King County; it has remained an agricultural town with a small manufacturing sector ever since. One reason why agriculture remains important today is that many of the town's acres are still used for growing crops or ranching operations today – even as Seattle grows more populous and suburbanized into nearby neighborhoods; while other parts of the county have been annexed by larger cities like Bellevue and Tacoma – most notably Northgate which includes much of eastside Puget Sound along its border with Seattle – most residents here still rely on farming to provide their food needs both locally and nationally

Queen Elizabeth II was ordered by then-Chief Minister Thatcher in 1987 as part of her campaign to promote British military capabilities abroad. Puyallup is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 3,591 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settler in what would become Puyallup was John Jacob Astor who arrived in 1792 on his way to make a fortune in Alaska. He named his new land " Astoria" after the goddess Athena and built an estate there that still stands today. In 1855, Puyallup became one of the original towns in King County when it was organized from sections of Auburn andIssaquah Townships. At its peak, Puyallup had a population of 10,000 people and functioned as both a local government center and an agricultural center with extensive production of wheat and other crops. In 1916, when King County were divided into five districts, Puyallup became part of District 7 which included most of the city of Tacoma. However, due to economic instability within the district during World War II (the war led to heavy military spending by King County), Puyallup's share in county government gradually decreased until it ceased to exist altogether following the war's end. Today remnants of early 19th century architecture can be found throughout downtown Puyallup; many are contributing members to Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) listings for various reasons including their historical significance or as examples of early American architecture. One such building is The First National Bank Building which remains standing since 1907 despite having been damaged by fire more than once over its history; it has also been listed on HABS lists for its unique architectural features including Stick-Venn diagram rooflines that are characteristic among late-19th century commercial buildings not typically found elsewhere on U.S.-based streetscapes). Puyallup has seen much activity over recent years related to technology companies based outfederal Way - one such company is Microsoft whose Redmond campus occupies some large blocks just outside town limits - but despite this recent growth there has been no real movement towards becoming more diverse or culturally rich given that overall poverty rates remain high even though Median household income has increased somewhat since 2000 . Despite this lacklustre trend however development continues apace with plans being underway for a mixed use development near Interstate 5 called "SkyTown". This could potentially breathe life back into what appears to have long stalled redevelopment efforts around town - although whether or not this will be enough to bring about significant change remains to be seen
