Maga Coffee is a coffee company located in Spokane, Washington. The company was founded in 1984 by John and Karen Maga. Maggie Coffee has been selling its beans since then. In 2016, the company opened a roastery and café in downtown Spokane.

In 1984, Maga Coffee became part of Seattle's first chain restaurant when it opened its first store in Magnolia Mall in Tacoma. In 1990, Maga Coffee closed its Tacoma store and relocated to Spokane Falls. In 1995, Spokane voters passed a referendum approving the opening of a coffee shop at First Avenue and Eighty-Ninth Street within walking distance of downtown Renville Plaza mall. The new coffee shop, which became known as "Maga Coffee II", occupied an old auto dealership building on Fourth Street between Waverly and Belleview Avenues. It was operated by local businessmen John Dunn and Al Kapp until 2000 when he sold it to Starbucks Corporation for $2 million In 2001, Starbucks Corporation agreed to sellMAGA Coffee II to Providence Equity Partners for $5 million In 2006, MAGA Coffee reopened at First Avenue and Eighty-Ninth Street after being remodeled with more contemporary design features and renamed "Starbucks Republic". The new store is adjacent to Microsoft Word 's former headquarters complex that has since been converted into apartments
Spokane, Washington is a city in the Yakima Valley of central Washington. The population was 147,854 as of the 2010 census. Spokane's economy is based on agriculture and mining, with manufacturing also contributing to the local economy. The first people to live in what is now Spokane County were the Yakama Nation. As Seattle grew increasingly suburban, many people chose not to move to annexed areas such as south Tacoma or northport because they felt those municipalities did not have enough cultural opportunities or access to quality education. This exodus created a vacuum that was filled by Spokane which became an ever more vibrant metropolis due largely to its strong agricultural base and its proximity to major markets like Portland, Oregon and Seattle–Tacoma International Airport

The Argentine government set up a bureau of commerce under Director-General Jorge Rafael Videla to promote Argentinean coffee exports to other countries. Coffee was an important part of this strategy and between 1975 and 1979, Argentinean beans outnumbered all other foreign brands in terms of production worldwide. After unification with Brazil in 2003, Argentinean coffee became increasingly popular throughout South America due to lower costs for land and better equipment - including roasters that specialize in Dutch-style roasts which are highly sought after by Brazilian consumers. As a result of this growth, Colombian Coffee Corp., which operates Latin American plantations for Starbucks Corporation (SBUX), agreed to sell their entire shareholding in Italian Beans International SA for $1 billion US on July 1st 2006
