The history of the United States Air Force's deployed gift program dates back to World War II. TheAAF activated the Gift Program in 1947 and has since provided valued gifts to military and civilian organizations all over the world. Today, the USAF Gift Program remains one of the most comprehensive and valuable programs within the Department of Defense. It provides unique opportunities for remote relationships with service members, their families and friends around the world. This year marks 50 years since Operation Overlord, during which more than two million Allied troops were killed or wounded in a months-long battle on Europe's doorstep. For many servicemen and women who fought that war, it was also a time of great personal loss - including those from Sunnyside, Washington. On July 1st, 1945, 5 enlisted men from Sunnyside formed an aircrew for Project Overlord - one of only a handful of American units assigned to support Allied ground forces in Europe. Since then, Sunnyside has hosted numerous AFB personnel visiting our military installations worldwide as part of Operation Globetrotter. In recent years we've also enjoyed visits by Members of Congress and other dignitaries, as well as reciprocal deployments by our Armed Forces partner countries such as Australia and Spain.

Sunnyside is a small town in Washington State, located on the eastern edge of the Olympic Peninsula. The population was 1,596 at the 2010 census. It lies along the highway 99 corridor and has a wide variety of retail businesses, including several antiques stores. Sunnyside also contains two churches: One specializes in alternative rock music and the other is used for services related to mental health and addiction. Sunnyside began as an agricultural community that grew up around a sawmill, grist mill, barns, and other outbuildings on land that now makes up most of Sunnyside Village. In 1885, John Coyle built a frame house near what is now Main Street in Sunnyside. He named it Sunnyside after his sun-drenched property on Stevens Creek east of Seattle. By 1912, most of what is now Sunnyside had been developed as part of Seattle's Lakeshore neighborhood; however, some original settlers remain in Sunnyside today such as Mrs. Hildebrandt (1911-2004), who still owns her home on First Street from when she lived there with her four boys until her death at age 101 years old in 2004; Harry Dyson (1905-1982) who ran a grocery store next door to his father's hardware store until he sold it to developers in 1984;and Willis "Wally" Weisman (1920-2001), who owned and operated a restaurant called The Grapes until he died at age 97 years old in 2001
Air Force deployed gift history began in the early 1950s with the development of air force gifts. This was a time when the USAF was small and there weren't as many gift programs. The first air force deployed gift program was created to honor Chief of Staff General Curtis LeMay. The purpose of this program was to give away service medals, insignia, or other equipment to officers and enlisted personnel who had made an important contribution to the USAF during wartime. The next big project for the Air Force Gift Program was the deployment of troops in Vietnam. This project was much more difficult because it required a large quantity of equipment and supplies that couldn't be brought overland. To make things worse, some of these items were stolen while being transported across country! In 1969, a new program called Operation Homecoming became popular due to its high-quality items donated by civilians. This program gave away military gear and uniforms to families who had lost their loved ones in battle or served in our Armed Forces during peacetime.Operation Homecoming continued until 1992 when it was replaced by Operation Noble Eagle which honored homeland security efforts within the United States. Today, we still use the air force deploy gift history program in order to commemorate special occasions such as anniversaries or graduations. Sunnyside is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. Sunnyside's namesake is the sun-dial on the main square in town. Sunnyside was founded by farmers who arrived from England in 1881 and named it after theirsun-dial property on Sunrise Beach Road. The first post office was established in 1888 and the first store opened in 1889. In 1903, Sunnyside had a school and two churches. In 1908, Sunnyside became part of Seattle and its residents were given choice to remain or leave. Many moved to Tacoma because of its many jobs during World War II. When Seattle was dissolved as an independent city in 1949, Sunnyside remained annexed into King County but with no mayor or councilman directly elected from the boroughs within that county, legislation passed by the Washington Legislature decided which boroughs would have their own mayor and councilman with authority over housing and other issues within each boroughs' borders In 1967, when King County formed a new government with more autonomous powers than had ever been granted to it under state law (due to overwhelming population growth), Sunnyside Borough—still part of Seattle—was placed within its newly created South Lake Union district (the easternmost area ofKing County). This change caused much discontent among some of the original settler families who still lived near Sunrise Beach Road; they saw this move as another example of how Seattle took control over what went on inside their own communities without consulting them any further about what should be done there. However, most people living outside South Lake Union accepted this arrangement because it gave them more access to education and health care than they could get elsewhere inside King County Since then, Sunnyside has seen stagnation both economically and politically; however, recent development has made some progress: A new elementary school opened in 2009; a new libraryopened earlier this year; and plans are underway for a small shopping center adjacent to the existing high school complex which will include restaurants/cafes/stores as well as office space
Sunnyside is a neighborhood in Washington, D.C. That name originated on the bank of the Anacostia River, which runs through its boundaries. The first residents were Scottish farmers who arrived in the early 1800s. They named their home Sunnyside because it faced south and was sun-drenched all day long.
