In 1927, the company merged with the Seattle Coffee Company to form the Seattle Coffee & Tea Corporation. The corporation continued to produce high-quality coffee until it shut down in 1984.
Sunnyside is a census-designated place in Washington County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Sunnyside is located on the eastern edge of Deschutes County and west of Portland. The first Europeans to visit what is now Sunnyside were fur traders from Canada in 1831. In 1847, a group of Mormon pioneers arrived from Utah and founded a small town on the banks of the Willamette River opposite present-day Sunnyside. The Mormons had failed to establish themselves in Oregon and decided to move their families across the river into what would become Deschutes County. In 1850, John Day built a wagon road along the east bank of the Willamette River between present-day Sunnyside and La Grande (now Grants Pass). This road became known as "Day's Road." A post office was established at Sunnyside in 1851, and mail was delivered by boat upriver to La Grande until 1893 when an electric cable connection was made between La Grande and Portland. When Congress passed the Morrill Land Act in 1862, it gave land grants to states for agricultural development. Oregon received about 4 square miles (10 km²) of this land grant near where Sunnyside now stands. The grant included land for a village named "Sunny Side" after then Ulysses S Grant's home state of Illinois; however, no such village appeared on map or reality until after Grant's death in1884 when his will created two villages - Sunny Side Village (later renamed Grantville) and Montrose - within Deschutes County that would ultimately be part of Seattle. A post office called "SunnySide" was established at Sunnyside on March 15, 1884 by order of Governor Edwin Miller with James Fenton as Postmaster General; however no business ever took place there because there were already three post offices open throughout Oregon: Grants Pass (opened December 17th), Bend (October 21st), Salem (December 11th). According to Census 2000 data it has lost its population over time due primarily to changes brought about by Interstate 5 which cut off access from much farmland northwest ofPortland while also moving people away from downtown coreslocated around NW First Avenue Northeast corner 3rd St., NE Cascade Ave., SW Starkweather Ave., SE Foster Rd., SW Beavercreek Rd.; as well as houses being moved out onto I-5 embankment nearby making it difficult for residents/business owners etc.. However recent growth has been seen recently with businesses leasing property back inside city limits next door to I-5 just outside permit boundaries

Sunnyside is a census-designated place in King County, Washington. The population was 1,585 at the 2010 census. Sunnyside is located on the east side of Seattle and includes most of the neighborhood around Northgate Shopping Center and Sunnyside Park. It began as a small piece of land next to Lake Union, which became part of Seattle after it was acquired by Puget Sound Land Company in 1853. In 1865, Jameson Taylor purchased the land from Puget Sound Land Company and named it Sunnyside after his home town in Ireland. The first store in Sunnyside opened on Magnolia Street in 1870. A post office called Sunnyside was established in 1873, and remained in operation until 1907. After World War II, many Japanese Americans were forced into relocation camps near Tacoma or Everett during the war years. Many people who lived near Tacoma died due to disease or malnutrition while living there; however, few people knew about Sunnyside because it wasn't reported on census forms. In 1957, the city decided to annex parts of north Seattle including Northgate Shopping Center and Sunnyside Park which would make it easier for businesses to relocate to new areas without having to worry about zoning changes or building permits; this also made Sunnyside an annexed property of Seattle proper rather than just King County as before. Today's community started growing when residents came together to buy farmland next door to Northgate Shopping Center for $1 million dollars back in 1984; they later developed that land into what we know today as Sunnyside Park with tennis courts and a playground/pool area among other features. The name "Sunny Side" comes from an old Dutch name for Seattle - Zuiderzee - meaning 'the eastern sea'.
