Small batch coffee history in West Richland, Washington began in the late 1800s when a group of farmers and entrepreneurs started to produce small batches of coffee. The early coffee growers found that it was difficult to get good quality beans from large-scale plantations, so they decided to start their own farms and produce their own beans. This resulted in a better-quality cup of coffee because the farmer didn’t have to share the beans with other farmers.

West Richland, Washington is a town in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,754 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous town in King County and the fifth-most populous city in Seattle metropolitan area. The name of the town comes from its location on the west side of Elliott Bay. The first permanent settlers in what is now West Richland were General George Vancouver and his wife Martha (née Cook). They arrived around 1792 and started homesteading land near present day Lake Union Avenue and Beacon Hill Drive. In 1822 they formed a joint venture with James Kintigh to purchase 2,500 acres (10 km²) of land east of Elliott Bay for $5 per acre ($25 total). This was known as "The Purchase." In 1857 the Town of West Richland was organized when it merged with neighboring villages of Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Edmonds and North Littleton. At that time it had a population of 1,200 people. By 1900 it growth to 3,000 people with an industrial park developed adjacent to what is now downtown West Richland which included lumberyards, breweries and other businesses like Jiffy Lube oil station located just south of current day Capitol Hill on Aurora Ave NW across from Safeco Field baseball stadium

West Richland is a town in Clark County, Washington, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wenatchee-Ft. Stevens Micropolitan Statistical Area. The West Richland School District serves the town and four villages within its boundaries: Canby, Frazee, Homer Glen and Oak Harbor. The first European to set foot on what is now West Richland was Captain George Vancouver on July 26, 1792 when he sailed along the coast of Western Washington looking for a new land route to Asia. He sighting an opening in the hills called "Nisqually" which may have been where Whitefish Canyon begins today, he named it after his home place HMS Nisqually off Scotland's Isle of Skye. In 1851 David Rice (1807-1881) built a sawmill on Salmon Creek about three miles east of present day Canby and began producing lumber for local residences and hotels until 1857 when he converted his mill into a gristmill that continued to produce flour until 1915 when it became known as Rice Mill No. 3 (). In 1876 John Aiken purchased the mill from Rice and operated it as Aiken & Son Lumber Company until 1906 when it merged with Spokane Lumber Company to form Pacific Northwest Lumber Co.. In 1916 also Wm H Ritchie foundedRichmond Saw Milling Works which still produces lumber today as Richardson Sawmills Incorporated.. After World War II Richmond Sawmills was bought by Allied Signal Corporation who changed their name back toRichmond Sawmills Incorporated in 1963 but closed down in 1996 after over 100 years of production.. Today there are two wood frame buildings remaining fromRichmond Sawmills company building dating back to 1912 which are used as office space by Eastside Community Development Corporation.. Another early post WWI enterprise here was Jenssen’s Hardware Store which opened up shop in 1917 at 5th Avenue and Center Street adjacent to what is now the old Post Office building (now RMH Architects). This store had 10 doors with each door opening onto one or more smaller rooms containing several items such as saddles, harnesses etc., all accessed through corridors leading off these larger rooms where customers could wait their turn behind the counter while you took your purchase... Jenssen’s lasted into WWII before closing due to wartime rationing but reopened under different ownership shortly thereafter serving primarily military personnel barracks before going out of business again around 1960.-Jenssen’s Hardware Store Site.-Museum plaque located at 6th Ave./Center St., Canby
