Woodinville is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 21,922 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle–Tacoma metropolitan area. Woodinville is known for its 425-acre (1,600 ha) Lakewood Park and its downtown business district which includes the University of Washington Tacoma campus and several other large buildings. The first Europeans to visit what is now Woodinville were British traders on their way from Asia to trade with the Northwest Coast in 1792. In 1847, Captain George Vancouver explored Puget Sound and discovered what would become Woodinville when he landed at Occidental Point on May 12th. At that time it was simply a small farming village consisting of about 100 people located on the north side of Puget Sound between Auburn Bay and Juan De Fuca Strait. In 1857, John Wesley Powell discovered Gold Rush prospects in present day Olympia Fields near Woodinville Center while exploring for minerals along the route his future mapmaker would later trekuate – U District – making him one of history’s most famous explorers. The town quickly became an important stopover for stagecoaches carrying goods up and down I-5 during those days before railroads came into being and Today much of what makes Woodinville such an interesting place has been developed as part of nearby UW Tacoma Campus including: Lakeside Residence Complex; Discovery Place; Maritime Museum; Christensen Building & Green Lawn Apartments; new Library Annex; Waterfront Development Project – all completed since 2000! In 1907 there was a fire that destroyed almost all Ofcburne School which had housed students from both sides of The River where today's University Ave & NE Rainier St intersects NW First St

Woodinville, Washington is a small town located in King County, Washington. The population was 5,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle-Tacoma metropolitan area and is home to Boeing’s newest factory. Woodinville was named after General James A. Wood who fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as Commander of U.S. forces in Alaska from 1855-1857 before becoming a brigadier general during the American Civil War. The first permanent settler in what would become Woodinville was Johnathan Dayton who moved here from Ohio around 1800. He founded what would eventually be called Dayton’s Store on Main Street in 1802 and later became a postmaster for the territory of king county which included present day Woodinville and parts of Bellevue, Lynnwood and Issaquah. In 1825, Dayton erected a log cabin on what is now Second Street near today’s Everett Municipal Airport to serve as his store and home until he sold it to George Capps in 1830. Capps operated his store until 1836 when he moved to Tacoma where he opened an extensive grocery business that combined farming with retail trade selling produce from his farmstead along First Avenue NW between Union Station NW and Interstate 5 NE (now First Hill Road NE). In 1840, Capps married Anna Prentice who had come down from Bellevue with her family some years earlier via wagon caravan following Oregon Trail route through central Puget Sound on their way northward into British Columbia (then Canada). After moving back east they built two more homes within two years: one on Third Street NW between Central Ave NW and Interstate 95 NE (now I–5) while another house standeth still upon which they lived until their death circa 1865; this last house served as both their home & funeral ground A few years later Richard Perry came downriver via steamboat from Olympia looking for land where he could prospect for gold but never found any worth mining so decided instead to open up ferry service across Elliott Bay connecting Queen Anne Island with Nisqually Island Here Perry met Captain Moses Eaton who offered him land at East Stevens Point if Perry could find enough people willing to help him build ferry terminals thereon - Eaton soon discovered that most people preferred sailingboats rather than walking or driving overland so Perry abandoned his plans for ferries only to start building roads connecting Elliott Bay with Nisqually Island including present day Northgate Way SE In 1850 Rev Dr Alexander Frost arrived from Boston Methodist Episcopal Church set up a school hereabouts under sponsorship of Reverend Ezra Harding northeast corner Third St & Main sts – during early days woodinville consisted mostly of Indians living off hunting & fishing leases granted by authorities
