The history of the Navy in Woodinville, Washington can be traced back to 1885. The first navy ship in this town was the Cutter, which was built by Wm. H. Sneath and operated by the Woodinville Volunteer Fire Department. In 1914, a new navy ship, the USS Tacoma, was commissioned here and served until 1945. This ship is still used today as a museum Vessel in Woodinville waters for educational purposes only! In 1942, the USS Eddy (DD-7) was commissioned here and served until 1964 when it was decommissioned and placed into storage. In 1978, the USS John F Kennedy (CV-41) arrived here from Long Beach Harbor in California with a crew of 34 sailors. The CV-41 served as both an exhibit vessel at local maritime museums throughout Washington until she finally retired on October 6th of 2001 after serving her last voyage to Bremerton Naval Shipyard where she will now serve as a museum attraction! After World War II ended there were few warships available to active duty in America so Congress enacted the National Defense Authorization Act of 1946 which provided for the building of two more ships – USS Northwest Territories (LPD-1) and USS John C McCain (SSN-868). The LPD-1 became operational on January 1st 1947 while SSN-868 made her maiden voyage on December 5th of that year. These two vessels played significant roles during our war with Korea and have been preserved here ever since! At present there are six LPDs berthside at various dockyards across America’s naval fleet! Additionally five McCain boats are docked along side thesesels providing important research opportunities for students all around Puget Sound area! Lastly one large warship called “USS Kitsap” is permanently moored in downtown Tacoma with an extensive collection of surplus naval equipment from around America! Today we continue to benefit from our military presence through education opportunities like those aforementioned at local maritime museums across Puget Sound area including USS Kitsap which provides interesting research opportunities for students all around Puget Sound area !!! Woodinville, Washington is a city in Thurston County, Washington, United States. The population was 992 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. The first people to live in Woodinville were the Menominee and Suquamish peoples who had arrived from Asia about 15 years earlier. The town site was surveyed by George Vancouver in 1792 and named after James Wood (1746–1825), an officer in the British army who had fought against France during the Seven Years' War. The first post office was established in 1823, and woodinville became a village on April 14, 1827. In 1863, when Washinton became an incorporated town under state law, Woodinville became its seat. A fire destroyed most of downtown on May 6, 1864; it took many months for rebuilt buildings to come up to code and become popular with residents again. In 1865-66 Washingtons first waterworks system was built; this later became one of the largest municipal water systems in America. The early 20th century saw dramatic growth in population due to annexation by other municipalities as well as easy access to railroad transportation which led to increased economic activity and development around Woodinville Boulevard which bisected the town center from north to south

The town of Woodinville, Washington was founded in 1851 by John C. Fenton and his wife, Sarah. The town was named for Sarah's father, James W. Woodin, who had settled in the area in 1825. The first post office was established in 1852. In 1865, the townsite was expanded to include the present-day blocks of South Main and East Capitol Streets. In 1886, the city of Seattle was incorporated as a result of a referendum vote from residents of Woodinville and other nearby towns. As Seattle grew larger, it needed more space and resources so in 1912 the city annexed all but 1/4 of what is now Woodinville Township including most of present day King County. The last annexation took place in 1964 when portions of Redmond were added to Woodinville along with much rural land within King County that had been annexed into Redmond over time. Woodinville has always been an agricultural center due to its fertile soil and long history of growing crops such as wheat, barley, potatoes and cotton. Its proximity to Puget Sound made it an important shipping point during prohibition times and allowed for significant growth in trade within the town during this period In recent years, Greenwater Systems Incorporated has become one of the largest employers in town with its manufacturing operations located on North Second Street near Tacoma Community College which began operating in 1996 The woodworking industry continued to grow throughout Prohibition as many people turned to woodworking as a way to evade taxes
The first white people in Washington Territory were the Dutch in 1792. The first English settlers arrived in 1851. In 1861, the United States acquired Oregon from Britain and set up a new government there. In 1871, the U.S. took over portions of western Canada and founded the Northwest Territories, which included most of Washington Territory. On January 3, 1898, American Samoa was added to the territory as well.
