Kapp later became president of the Morgantown Coffee Company. By 1940, gun club membership had reached 30; by 1945 it was over 100; and in 1949 it had grown to 1500+. By 1954, guns were no longer allowed at member functions; however, the company continued distribution through its affiliated stores until 1980. In 1984, Captain Don Kapp sold his interest in Morgantown Coffee Company to his son-in-law and co-founder Tom Fenton II who renamed it "Tom's Coffee." "Tom's Coffee" continues operations today as one of West Virginia's most well known cafes with locations throughout Appalachia including Greenbrier County (WV), Shenandoah Valley (VA), and even out into Florida!

From 1945-1968, The Coffee Shop was located at 114 N Main Street. In 1968, the business moved to 3rd Avenue and became known as Joe's Cafeteria.Joe's Cafeteria closed in 1990 but it reopened as a gentlemen's club in 1992 after being sold to a group of men who had been customers at Joe's Cafeteria before its closure. In 1998, Joe's Cafe reopened as a full service restaurant under the name "The Grand Old Lady".In 2006, The Grand Old Lady closed for good and was replaced by Park Tavern which currently serves coffee and tea from 12pm to midnight on weekdays and 8am to 10pm on Saturdays.
