Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin is a small town located in the town of Chippewa Falls, Wis., United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in Chippewa Falls were James and Esther Beaulieu who arrived in 1837. At that time the area was part of Canada. They founded a tavern there which became known as The Beaulieu Tavern. The Beaulieus sold the business to John Haines in 1841 and continued to operate it until their death in 1865. In 1846, Susannah Morse settled on the site of what is now Chippewa Falls and built a house called "Susannah's Camp". She leased land from Alexander Fenton for $10 per acre and began raisinglivestock there. In 1861, she sold her farm to Julius Muhlenberg and his wife Amelia Muhlenberg moved into their home until they sold it to Charles Wirthsbury in 1908. In 1862, Rev John Rodgers organized the first Methodist church in Chippewa Falls with ministers Jno Rodgers (the preacher) and Edward Laughlin officiating services. Mr Kirtland Cook donated land for a schoolhouse which was dedicated on October 15th 1863 by Reverend Rodgers himself(). Classes were held at Mrs Cook's house until 1865 when an brick building replaced it which served as the new schoolhouse from then until 1969-71 when it burned down due to fire code violations In 1868, Isaac Niles opened up a general store at 414 Main Street which he ran until his death in 1893 In 1892-93 Charles Wirthsbury operated a grocery store at 515 Main Street which also housed his brewery (). He later closed his brewery and converted it into an auto garage (). His son Fredrick Wirthsbury operated that garage until its closure around 1980-81 In 1916, Catherine Badger set up her own bakery called "Catherine's Bakery" on First Avenue (now US Highway 41). That business continued operation through World War II before being shuttered during that conflict

Chippewa Falls is a town in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,695 at the 2010 census. Chippewa Falls is part of the Milwaukee- Dane-West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first white people to visit Chippewa Falls were traders from the nearby village of Waukesha in 1836. One account says that they saw "a beautiful falls, full of crystal clear water" and went on to buy some Aboriginal land from the local Chief Weyoka for $5. In 1840, John Condon erected a log cabin near the falls for his family and their Indian interpreter/ translator father George Washington Condon. By 1845, four other families had moved into Chippewa Falls with their farm animals and several stores had opened up around town providing goods and services to residents and travelers alike. In 1847, when gold was discovered at Sesquicentennial Creek in Butte County, Minnesota (now Dakota), many people migrated westward looking for new opportunities in what would become known as the Gold Rush era of Wisconsin history. Among those pioneers were Jens Hansen Christensen (1817-1892) who served as postmaster at Chippewa Falls from 1850 until his death in 1868; his son Peder Hansen Christensen (1850-1925); Ole Olsen; Johan Ludvigsen; Rasmus Rasmussen; Ole Jensen; Nils Pedersen; Christopher Clausen; Abel Nielsen and others who established businesses such as bakery, mercantile store etc., chipping away at this small but growing community over time until it reached its current size. On November 25th 1865 during America's Civil War he led an American force against Confederate forces near Fort Snelling which resulted in a pivotal victory that enabled Union troops to push southward towards St Pauls Cathedral where General Ulysses S Grant pronounced the final word on American victory over slavery: "You have won". This event marks one of the earliest moments when military efforts by Wisconess locals helped contribute directly to Union success during the war while also demonstrating their submission to federal authority under President Abraham Lincoln. For generations thereafter Chippewa Falls residents have proudly claimed this historical moment as one of their own – an infusion of patriotism that has continued unabated even through difficult times including 9/11th attacks or economic recession - something that can be seen plainly demonstrated by all who walk or drive through town center today!
