The Mount Pleasant Army Depot was founded in 1919 as the Reconnaissance and Intelligence School at Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin. The depot was located on the now defunct East Side of Milwaukee. Mount Pleasant is a small town in Douglas County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 575 at the 2010 census. Mount Pleasant is part of the Green Bay–Stout metropolitan area. The first people to live in Mount Pleasant were the Menominee and Potawatomi Indians. The first white settler in Mount Pleasant was John Haggerty, who came to the area in 1849. He built a cabin on what is now First Avenue. Haggerty's cabin was later replaced by the present-day Mount Pleasant Methodist Church. When Milwaukee became a city in 1854, Mountpleasant became part of Milwaukee and experienced rapid growth. Businesses began opening up and people started moving into the community. In 1872, there were only 10 residents living in Mountpleasant; by 1880, there were over 200 residents living in the town. In 1898, when Milwaukee annexed to its city limits, Mountpleasant lost its status as an independent village and became part of the new municipality of Green Bay. However, it continued to experience rapid growth due to its proximity to downtown Milwaukee and because it had been designated as a stop on Chicago's "Lakeshore Line". As a result of this growth, more businesses opened up and people moved into Mountpleasant from all over Wisconsin.

Mount Pleasant is a small town in the towns of Beloit and Menomonee Falls, located in the Driftless Zone of Northwestern Wisconsin. The name "Mount Pleasant" comes from an Indian word meaning "place where the sun rises." The first settler in Mount Pleasant was James Fenton, who arrived about 1839. In 1847, George Hinton settled here and built the first log cabin on Una Lake. A store and post office were established here in 1854. In 1861, John C. Goodrich founded Goodrich Brewery here and named it after his father-in-law, Jonas Goodrich. The town developed rapidly during the 1860s and 1870s due to its location at a crossing of two major rivers and its close proximity to other settlements. By 1880, Mountpleasant had a population of 610 people. During World War I, Mountpleasant served as a military training ground for local soldiers. After the war, the town declined until it regained some stability in the 1920s when it began to attract new residents drawn by its natural resources such as hunting and fishing opportunities.
