The Wisconsin Air National Guard's 283rd Fighter Wing, commonly known as the Muskego Air National Guard District (MAG), flew in strategic air services from bases in Muskego and Neenah during World War II. In 1951, the MAG became a part of the United States Air Force with its ownAir Defense Command unit, the 332d Bombardment Squadron. The squadron was activated at Goodyear Field, Arizona on 15 May 1951 and moved to RAF Fairford England on 1 October 1951. Upon activation they were equipped with Boeing B-29 Superfortresses. Whenactivated, the squadron had 56 aircraft including 10 Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress/Strainers and 6 Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter bombers. In 1957, when ADC merged with AFNORTHCOM to form NORAD it retained responsibility for all USAF bomber units within NORAD's command area however it disbanded the 332d BS on 1 January 1959 effective 31 December 1958 due to budgetary cuts affecting USAF Bomber wings throughout 1958 and 1959. The last active squadron of the North Dakota ANG wasthe 569th Tactical Airlift Squadron which operated C-130 Hercules aerial refueling tanker planes from Weyburn AFB Minneapolis MN until its disbanding on 9 November 1990 effective 3 December 1989 after more than 40 years of service. On 15 March 1946 an appropriation was enacted by Congress for $5 million for research intoaircraft armament development by USAAF Technical Service Commands (TSC) under Project Ulysses S Grant III Authorized by Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces Commander Europe upon entry into force of European Theater of Operations 8 September 1944 pursuant to General Order No. 103 Directive No. 2 Army Ground Forces Austria directive dated 11 August 1944 commanding Army Group Germany formations deployed in that theater commanders responsible for overall organization and control of airfields situated therein including those at Austrian frontier crossings providing air support thereto transferred direct authority therefor Commander Seventh Army Vienna Austria operating out of Graz Airport Transferred responsibility thenceforth under Seventh Army directive dated 24 October 1945 Headquarters First United StatesArmy Armored DivisionTransferred remaining responsibilities thenceforth under Headquarters Fifteenth Army Kansas City Missouri

Muskego, Wisconsin is a small town in the Fox River Valley of eastern Wisconsin. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Muskego is located in the 18th Ward of Milwaukee County and is part of the Milwaukee–specific city government. The village was first settled in 1855 as a result of European-American migration to what is now Muskego County. The Village of Muskego was organized on February 20, 1855 by Order in Council from Dodge County. The original plat for Muskego was a two-story frame building on State Street that still stands today. It became an important stop on stagecoaches between Appleton and Waukesha counties and also served as headquarters for several early churches in the area. In 1916, construction began on what would become known as Park Row Motor Speedway which became one of the largest racetracks in America when it opened its doors to racing fans on May 5, 1916. Today, Park Row Motor Speedway remains one of the most iconic motorsports venues worldwide and hosts many top level events including NASCAR’s Daytona 500 and IndyCar racing season opener events likethe Indianapolis 500 etc.. Muskego has been home to many famous people such as entrepreneur Fred Smith who had his company here; musician Neil Young who played at Summerfest here; actor/director Robin Williams who vacationed here while he was filming “Goodfellas”; author Lois Lowry who wrote her magnum opus “Gone with the Wind” here; rocker AC/DC whose self-titled album was recorded at nearby Ezzell Air Force Base (now known as Midway Airport) – all before they moved their entire studio complex to Australia! And finally there are plenty more examples but we will just leave you with this: In 2018, local resident John Chisholm set up shop backcountry outside town atop an old flour mill pond becoming first person ever to produce cheese from wild milk!
The United States Air Force has a rich history with air gifts. From the early days of the USAF, when pilots and commanders donated their time and resources to help build America’s first air force, to more recent contributions from generals and admirals, USAF air gifters have always been important in our military. In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, which ordered all U.S. military units to accept donations of aviation materials or equipment from any country providing Allied forces with needed supplies during World War II. The United States Air Force was born from this order. Since then, the USAF has accepted many aircraft and other items from countries around the world in support of its missions. Today, the USAF employs over 150 individuals who donate their time and skills to support Operation Gulf Stream—the global effort to keep peace and security alive through aerial refueling operations. In addition, members of the public are also invited to contribute items or money for various airlift projects throughout the year.
The Air Force Gift History Program is theairforce.mil's online repository of gift history information for all Air Force members, family and friends. The program includes information on current and past Air Force gifts, as well asAir Force Historical artifacts and memorabilia. The Air Force Gift History Program was launched in 1997 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the USAF. As part of this commemoration, all AFB members were required to upload their military service records to the AFGiftHistory website so that gift history could be compiled and shared with other branches of service. The website also contains a variety of tools that can help airmen research specific gifts or donations they may have received from others within the USAF or outside sources over time. To date, over 1 million individuals have donated their military service records to the AFGiftHistory website! It is through this platform that we are able to compile an accurate and comprehensive gift history for our airmen and their families - something we feel is important for both our community & national security. Muskego, Wisconsin is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 2,621 at the 2010 census. The Muskego area is located in Green Bay County and is part of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area. The first people to live in what is now Muskego were French Canadians who came overland from Quebec in 1781. They built a small fort on the banks of the Kalamazoo River and named it Fort Radisson after their patron saint, Saint Jacques de la Grande-Bretagne (Jacques de Rais). The first Christian church was built here in 1812 by Rev John Coyle and dedicated to St Peter. In 1847, John Fitch bought land northeast of Muskego for $2,000 from David Laughlin. He founded Fitch & Co., one of the largest paper companies in America at that time. In 1865, he sold his interest in Fitch & Co to James Wickersham for $5,000 also known as 'the great cash deal'. For many years this was considered one of the biggest private deals ever made in American history. In 1907, Jens Jensen started farming here with his family and began growing corn which he would sell to local farmers markets across town during summer months while they grew crops on their own properties nearby. Other early fruit growers include George Weigel and Harry Smith who both developed orchards around 1925-1930 near what is nowmuskegon avenue west of town center; these Orchard fields are still there today as part of agricultural mixed use development called 'Old Town' development adjacent to I-794/Milwaukee boulevard west side). On July 9th 1915 a tornado touched down near New Berlin and killed five people including Mrs Halsey Carpenter (widow of Colonel William Halsey) her son Alvin Jr., daughter Hazel Carpenter (age 10), brother Royce Harding (aged 8) all children attending school at New Berlin Methodist Episcopal Church just outside town limits then quickly moved into homes within minutes most likely seeking shelter from powerful storm surge that followed tornado touchdown followed by unusual light show phenomenon associated with tornadoes some say originating from behind mobile home park east side developments then following path towards village center spinning rapidly gaining lift lifting off high into sky creating extreme funnel cloud form often seen over city centers especially along lakes Michigan and Erie then suddenly descending back out over countryside becoming more erratic remaining category 1 until destroyed very shortly before final landfall just northwest corner lot adjoining township limits near oldtown cemetery perimeter
Muskego County was organized on April 6, 1836. It is the second most recent county in Wisconsin.
