Two Rivers is a town in Green County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 1,681 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The first Carrier family settled in Two Rivers in 1837. They were farmers and early settlers of what became Green County. The Carriers formed a cooperative farm enterprise to provide food for their community and surrounding farms. In 1865, they donated land to the city of Milwaukee for parkland, which still includes some of their original acreage. Lutheran missionaries from the Midwest arrived in Two Rivers in the 1840s to proselytize for Christianity among the Native American residents. One of these missionaries, John Gadsden (1801-1868), helped found Two Rivers Baptist Church in 1847 and served as its first pastor until his death in 1868. In 1892, two members of Gadsden's congregation purchased 640 acres east of town on Wisconsin Avenue for $10,000; this became known as "Gadsden Park." The new church built there was dedicated on October 15th, 1893 by Govans Jensen and Reverend Charles Mclntyre (1821-1900). In 1865, when Milwaukee annexed Eight Mile Township into Green County, it included Two Rivers within its boundaries; but unlike other towns within Milwaukee's limits that were unaffected by annexation (e.g., Wauwatosa or West Allis), Two Rivers remained an agricultural township with a small cadre of residents until after World War II when it exploded culturally due to advances made by both Milwaukee and neighboring Racine counties in education and industry alike. This change can be seen throughout downtown Two Rivers where arterial streets have been renamed Market Street/Milwaukee Avenue northward while Euclid Avenue continues southward as New National Highway 114 Extension – retaining only those namesakes that are associated with businesses located on each street rather than developing more complex naming schemes which would encompass adjacent properties like FirstMerit Bank or PNC Financial Services Center - one such example being SecondMarket Place which has since become North Shore Credit Union

Two Rivers is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located on the west bank of the Kettle River. The population was 7,569 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Hoffman County metropolitan area and is bordered by Milwaukee to the north, Rockford to the east, Racine to the south and Kenosha to the west. The first settler in Two Rivers was Nicholas Hetzinger in 1836. A post office called Two Rivers was established in 1841, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1868 Oneida County was created from portions of Milwaukee County, and Two Rivers became a part of that county. In 1902 Two Rivers merged with Racine County to form Kane County. Oneida College (now Wisconsin State University) opened its doors on October 1, 1903 as Racine Normal School (renamed after one of Three Sisters colleges). On November 15th 1904 Racine organized a township election for two members each on an at-large basis for school board member; Oneida School Board also voted 2-0 to create a town meeting forTWO RIVERS with powers equivalent to those granted by village boards within their respective townships which had been abolished by statute due largely to litigation brought forth by then Superintendent Emil Loring over land transactions between village trustees and other landowners including Loring's parents company - Greenleaf Manufacturing Company.. Approved resolution passed 3-2.. Named "Two rivers" Borough status first came into effect January 1st 1905 when all but one vote against Borough status were cast by Township Trustees who opposed Borough Status because they felt that this would give increased authority (from Village Boards) to personalities or individuals not affiliated with their Township who would be able to control broad areas within their Township bounded only by express lines drawn by themselves without input from residents or Township Officials... On July 6th 1907 Both banks of Kettle River were annexed into Oneida Countys borders making Two Rivers an enclave surrounded only partially by rural municipalities now Watertown through Kenosha county line
