Maga Coffee is a well-known coffee shop in West Allis, Wisconsin. The business has been in operation since 1978 and has become a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Maga Coffee was started by the current owner, Lewis J. Maga, Jr., who purchased the business from his father in 1978. Lewis was a successful businessman who had worked at many businesses before he decided to start Maga Coffee. He knew that he wanted to provide an amazing cup of coffee for his customers and himself. The first store on US Highway 8 near downtown West Allis sold MAGA coffee beans direct from the roaster. This allowed customers to enjoy delicious cups of coffee straight from the roaster without having to go through any other intermediaries. Since then,MAGA Coffee has continued to make an incredible impact on theWest Allis community by providing quality java while helping to support local businesses and organizations. In addition, MAGA Coffee continues its tradition of supporting independent journalists through donated roasted coffees and other perks related to their journalism program (e.g., free samples). Today, MAGA Coffee is one of the most popular spots for coffee lovers in town, with regulars coming from all over Wisconsin just to experience their namesake cup of Java firsthand!

In 1872, a group of entrepreneurs in West Allis established the first coffee shop in the town. The business was named Maga Coffee. Maga Coffee served coffee and pastries until 1898 when it moved to its present location on Wabash Avenue.
West Allis is a city in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, located on the east side of Wisconsin. The population was reported as 116,515 at the 2010 census. It is the most populous city in Milwaukee County and one of Wisconsin's five cities. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now West Allis were French voyageurs who followed the Marquette brothers across Lake Michigan in 1673. In 1836, land grants from Governor John C. Calhoun formed part of the Township of Racine and became part of Milwaukee County when it was created from portion of Milwaukee County that had been annexed by Racine in 1838. In 1854, settlers started arriving from Illinois and Iowa, working on farms near what is now Wauwatosa and Grant Park before moving into town for business or pleasure. By 1870, West Allis had a population of around 100 people. That year, the first school was built onwhat would become State Street - one block northwest of present-day City Hall (now known as Government Center). A second school was built in 1882 along First Avenue north of King Drive East - this building still stands today as part of Downtown West Allis Library which has been serving the community since 1907. In 1905, Wauwatosa became an incorporated town after being separated from West Allis; it retains its own police department and other municipal services separate from those provided by West Allis Mayor Tom Barretto and City Councilmember Dan Ackermann. In 1912, Wisconesshire Electric Company established a power plant at what today is Griggs Road NE; this facility remains operational to this day providing electricity to downtown West Allis through its substation complex (formerly known as “the Plant”) on de Koven Street NE. The plant originally comprised four west-side boilers fed by water brought upriver via ditches next to then current Fourth Street NW; however fire destroyed all but two boilers during 1940 ($3 million posthumous bill), necessitating replacement with more modern construction including a powerhouse (completed 1973) that provides current day electrical services to nearly every inch of downtown west allis! On July 1st 1909 – just over 25 years after incorporation –West Allis voters passed an ordinance authorizing creationof a park system similar to those existing within adjacent townships such as Wauwatosa or Racine; aptly named “City Park” - precursor to present day North Park/DowntownWestAllIS park system which includes over 10 square miles (.4 km2) Of open space containing diverse vegetation & 400 species endemic to WI!!! This event marks watershed moment when 2nd largest city inWI joined ranks with many others nationwide & helped birth American Revolution!!!

West Allis is a town in the U.S. state of Wisconsin, located in southeastern Milwaukee County. The population was 21,878 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Milwaukee County and home to the West Allis Central High School and the community college system's West Allis campus. In spite of its small size, it has played an important role in Wisconsin history, most notably through its involvement in both the American Revolution and World War II. The first settlement in what are now West Allis Township was made by John Fritchey on December 2, 1836, as part of a survey for a new township that would be created from parts of Racine and Waukesha counties. The name "Allis" was given to this township by George Allin during his surveying work for Cook County when he found a stream called Anse de L'Allis (now known as Whitefish Creek) near present-day East Side Drive and Clybourn Avenue. The first house built in what are now West Allis Township was built by Levi Coffin on November 14, 1837; it still stands today at 152nd Street and Prairie Avenue. On March 16, 1840, while serving as justice of peace for Racine County, George Washington Dodge started construction on what are now Good Hope Road (Waukesha Boulevard) and South State Street in what are now West Alliss Township - these two streets current day Fourth Street were then part of Dodge Road (today's Wauwatosa Boulevard). This road still exists with remnants visible today including large stone blocks that once served as overhead railroad tracks crosses 4th Street between Good Hope Rd./South State Sts., just south of downtown WI! Dodge Road continues southeast from today's intersection with I-794 to where it meets US Highway 36 / US Highway 20 about 3 miles east/west of downtown WI Today's intersection between I-794 & US 20 marks one end point for Dodge Rd./Waukesha Blvd which followed ancient trade routes dating back over 10k years! This early development can be seen on maps dating back to 1841 which show that present day North Ave., South Ave., Dodge Rd./Waukesha Blvd., I-794 & US 36 all intersected each other within 3 miles radius making this area one big market place! In 1846 John Cavanaugh began construction on what are now Market Way (now First Avenue) & Eastern Parkway (now Elmwood Avenue), both currently portions of Erie NoMa neighborhood in Chicago IL also named after him - Market Way itself remains extant as an inactive street name while Eastern Parkway has been renamed many times including Third Ave./Erie Parkway NE which hugs Northwestern University’s Campus before turning east onto Milwaukee’s north side just past Menomonee Falls before returning west again becoming Third Ave./Erie Parkway NE again
