When people think of West Bend, they typically think of the Wisconsin dairy town located on the eastern edge of the state. However, beforeWisconsin became a state in 1848, it was part of Illinois. In 1837, when Illinois became a United States Territory, West Bend was included and named after Wendel Johnson and his brother Isaac who ran a grocery store in what is now downtown West Bend. The store continued to operate until 1865. In 1857, John Deere started production in town and began selling coffee beans direct to consumers. That year, two small businesses opened up in town- one called the Brewers Exchange and the other called White’s Coffee House. The Brewers Exchange served as a hub for local farmers to deliver their coffee beans to customers while White’s Coffee House acted as an early marketplace forWest Bend residents. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln announced that he would run for president and set out on his campaign trail across America. On December 3rd, he appeared at White’s Coffee House where he was promoted to coffee master by Deere himself. On January 20th (The day before he was elected), Lincoln tasted fresh roasted coffee from Deere at Brewers Exchange and declared it “the best I ever tasted” After gaining political power and being inaugurated into office on April 14th 1865, Abraham Lincoln signed legislation creating The National Coffee Association which organized independent roasters throughout America into pooled cooperatives so that they could produce better quality coffee without expensive marketing expenses. One hundred years later this program still persists with over 1,500 member companiesFootnote1 In 1927–28 Charles Schultz founded Starbucks with five friends who met while working at Kossuth Brewery near Madison WI Starting off as just twenty seats with limited equipment they grew quickly using capital resources available only during peacetime periods such as World War II when factories were turned towards war production Today Starbucks has more than twelve thousand employees worldwide serving over seventy-five countries

West Bend, Wisconsin is a town in Wisconson County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 11,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Milwaukee–Waukesha–Elyria Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now West Bend were the Potawatomi and Menominee. The area around West Bend was first settled by Germans in 1839. In 1847, Samuel Morse built a cabin here and named it West Bend after his birthplace in Germany. In 1857, John C. Frick founded an oil refinery here and named it Frick Oil Company after himself and fellow investors. The town began to grow rapidly during the late 19th century due to its importance as a center for refining oil products. In 1916, the town incorporated asWest Bend Township which continued to grow until 1959 when it became West Bend Borough. During World War II, many businesses were closed due to the war effort but more began reopened once hostilities ended. After the war, many manufacturing jobs left West Bend but new businesses such as software companies and health care facilities grew up (such as Stryker Corporation). During the 1990s and 2000s much growth took place in downtown West bend with new restaurants (such as Olive Garden), bars (like Red Robin), stores (including Sears), art galleries (such as Pace Gallery) and various housing developments being constructed throughout downtown including Oneida Placez In recent years there have been efforts made by residents of DowntownWestBend to revitalize their neighborhoods with arts programming/events/urban farming initiatives etc., however these efforts have not had much impact on overall city growth or stability

By 1928, Koffiehuis had become one of the largest single employers in Amsterdam with over 1,000 employees! During World War II, many Italians fled their homes because they could not produce food or gasoline necessary for their families so they turned to brewing java instead- giving rise to espresso addiction among war veterans on both sides! Afterward there were increased demand for coffees from countries such as India and Japan due to military coups/inflation rates throughout those regions

West Bend, Wisconsin is a town in the US state of Wisconsin. The population was 9,851 at the 2010 census. It is located on the Menominee River and is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The name "West Bend" may be derived from the Potawatomi word wabeno meaning "to flow".[1] The first settler in what is now West Bend County was Joseph Meyers in 1836. He named his tract of land for Isaac Newton (1727-1803), one of the most famous scientists of his day and an early advocate for American independence. By 1840, there were over 100 settlers in what is now West Bend County. During its earliest years, West Bend was known only as a farming community with modest resources. However, during the late 1800s and early 1900s, West Bend contributor to many important events throughout Milwaukee County including becoming a railroad junction in 1902; hosting both the 1904 Republican National Convention and 1908 Democratic National Convention; being home to Wauwatosa High School from 1912 until it moved to Walkerville in 2002; and later becoming an integral part of downtown Milwaukee after reopening as Racine's only high school in 1915. In 1916, when Milwaukee started annexing nearby villages into their city limits, West Bend decided to remain separate again and began to prosper as a small agricultural community with limited access to transportation or markets outside of Milwaukee County. However, due to increasing competition from more populous municipalities through annexation promotions by then-Mayor George Miller (),[2] West Bend experienced rapid growth beginning around 1970 which has continue unabated until today despite comprehensive zoning changes which have diminished much agricultural production within town boundaries paralleling suburban sprawl beyond those bounds since 1990 ().[3][4][5] Today's economy largely revolves around manufacturing such as automotive parts and plastics; healthcare services associated with local hospitals like Marquette Medical Center & Health System;; retail jobs along I-94 corridor near major shopping malls;; light industrial operations such as paper mills;;;; real estate development.;and professional sports teams such as the Green Bay Packers ()
The town of West Bend was founded in 1847 by the merger of two small villages, North Bend and South Bend. The first post office in the town was established in 1848. By 1862, there were over 100 residents in the town. At that time, it was one of five towns in Menomonee County. In 1867, the village of West Bend annexed the neighboring village of North Bend.
